Doctors and care were great. However, the billing and hospital administrators of the North River Surgical Center are running a bait and switch [clarification below] where the facility - North River Surgical Center (an in-network facility with United Health Care) uses doctors from this facility. So, we were charged for the anesthesiologist and the surgeon who are "out-of-network". This wasn't even clear on the billing statements that this is what was happening, and required some significant digging. UPDATE:-~ North River Surgery Center uses the docs from GI Associates of West Alabama [Howe & Shah] and then charges for out-of-network services at an in-network facility. The bill directly comes from GI Associates of West Alabama. This should be covered under the "No Surprises Act". And obviously United health care isn’t helping the situation. But this is not health coverage or accurate representation of expected services.

I had the best experience here! Everyone there, from the front desk to the Doctor was top notch! I has an endoscopy & was in and out in less than 3 hours! The facility even called the next day to check on me! Highly recommend them!

Do not have any procedures there. I was lied to, ignored and rushed. Concerns of a bad headache and eye hurting was dismissed as being dehydrated, but they threw away and wasted a half of bag of fluids. I'm a Fall Risk patient, but at no time did they put that bracelet on me. I have severe anxiety, but yet they wouldn't let my wife come back with me even though there was a chair next to my bed. They take your phone off the get go, so I couldn't take my mind off the procedure that way either even though they had me laying there for an hour. It also feels like I have a low grade fever, but after everything else wasn't going to bring it up even though they saw me feeling my head and cheeks. I REPEAT DO NOT USE THEM FOR YOUR PROCEDURES!!! There's multiple other facilities in town that are way better!

I see a lot of bad reviews about North River Surgical Center and was kind of concerned. I've had an endoscopy and colonoscopy within the last 2 months here. I had a great experience both times. Everyone was nice and they were very efficient. I would recommend North River Surgical Center.

I went last week for a procedure and I was the last patient to go back so while I was waiting the nurses were making phone calls to patients and Paula, the nurse manager, talked bad about every patient she spoke with after she hung up with them to the other nurse that was there. I was literally in shock at what I was listening to. Then it was the nurse manager! What kind of example if she’s setting for everyone else. They obviously did not know that I had not gone back for my procedure Yet. It took a while for them to come get me and I think they assumed that I was already back there. I did call and speak to the director and let her know about what I experienced. Hopefully she handles the situation like she said she would and speaks to her staff so that nothing like this happens in the future. I personally would never have another procedure there I’ll travel to Birmingham before I would go back to this facility for anything else. I can say that everybody else that I dealt with was great, that’s the only positive thing. Her nonsense however did over shadow the positive.
