Great experience for my first ever colonoscopy, though it's definitely confusing that scheduling is handled by an entirely different office (at a different location!) Every member of the staff was fantastic, from my pre-op RN Shea through my procedure staff Emily and Amanda, and my recovery room staff Stephanie. And of course Dr. Molloy was terrific: friendly, informative, thorough, and funny. Really enjoyed how easy and comfortable the entire team made me feel.

I had a good enough experience with the services I received but be advised the billing process is not straightforward. You are billed once directly for the use of the facility on date of service and again by your provider afterward for any balance not covered by insurance. I am sure they have reasons for doing it this way but consolidating billing with the provider would do much to reduce confusion and improve the patient customer experience.

The staff at Alaska Digestive were amazing. I had just had cataract surgery and they turned the lights down while they were doing all the intake paperwork and also when we went into the OR. But what really was amazing was when I told them I had PTSD with the heart rate monitors the assistant in the OR stood up, walked around and stood between me and the monitor so I couldn’t see it. Then I remember being told my ride was there to pick me up. She could have just waited for the drug to kick in but she took the time to really take care of me so I don’t have to see the monitor. Just amazing!!! Thank you.

They didn't tell me I was getting an endoscopy until I was already there. They also said I could go back to work the next day, and that was a bald faced lie. Endoscopies take a few days off recovery because they hurt your throat and stomach in the process. I can't talk or eat. My employer needed to be properly informed on the recovery period, as did I. I needed to know that I was getting an endoscopy before the appointment happened, as well. My final complaint: I have no idea what drugs were put in my system! If I get drug tested at work, I'll fail because I can't tell them what I was given before the test! I have no idea how long that stuff was supposed to last or anything, but I was out of it for 24h straight. Definitely not ready to go back to work in the morning because of this, either. You can not work at a physical labor and communication intense job after having these procedures done. The 3 day fast alone had me ready to pass out at work. There is no way to just bounce back from this and go back to work when you need to talk all day and do heavy lifting and stay on your feet. You WILL need a few days of rest after an endoscopy. According to the medical websites, it will be a few days before you can eat solid food again and speak. Don't take their word over the facts that are clearly shared across multiple peer reviewed medical sites! Also, be aware that they may schedule you for major procedures without your knowledge. Honestly, this fact alone is a solid reason to choose a different provider. I think it's everyone's worst nightmare to get a surprise surgery! But what is also especially concerning to me is that this doctor is treating invasive procedures like they're just a little checkup and is dismissing the discomfort of the patient. That means they're not likely to take you seriously if there's complications. This is why compassionate care saves lives... but this kind of care is what causes the loss of them.
