*Warning* you will be receiving suprise BILLS for out of network providers from this facility. Even if you have "good" health insurance and were in network, the first bills will come in almost two years later.

Summary: surprise bills, excessive costs for procedure, duplicates/inconsistencies/missing payments in billing records, refuses to respond/clarify issues. Told me that polyps removed were not pre-cancerous when in fact they were. Directed colonoscopies every 5 years, but based on higher risk my PCP says they should be done every 3. I was referred to Chandler Endoscopy for a colonoscopy in June. I have insurance, but on the day of the procedure, I was charged $1,276 out-of-pocket. In July, I received another bill for $847.29, which I was told was a physician's fee, and the $1,276 was a facility fee. I paid the $847.29 after being assured there would be no additional fees. In August I received another bill for $638.00, and in October I received yet another bill for $424.00. Open-source information indicates the typical cost for a colonoscopy to average between $1,200 - $4,800. I requested an invoice showing all charges. This invoice shows a total fee of $10,684, but this consists of two duplicate billings for "COLONOSCOPY, FLEXIBLE, PROXIMAL TO SPL." The invoice does not reflect the $847.29 payment made July. Additionally, insurance company records indicate that they have paid over $23,000 for this procedure ($10,684 to Chandler Endoscopy, $10,500 to a Michael Drozda, $2,044 to Gregory Nguyenduc (a Doctor w/Chandler Endoscopy), and $801 to a Lisa Cerilli). Chandler Endoscopy has not responded to multiple attempts to contact them regarding the duplicate billing, missing payment, and inconsistencies between their invoice and insurance company payments. However, they continue to send e-mails and phone calls demanding payment. I have submitted a request for fraud review through my insurance company, as well as a complaint through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services under the No Surprises Act. Prior to the procedure, at my initial "consultation" (less than 5 minutes), Dr. Nguyenduc was abrupt to the point of being rude, and no useful information was conveyed (my insurance was billed $242 for this and I paid an additional $75 directly). On the day of the procedure, one of the medical staff indicated that he was sick and showed symptoms, and they had significant issues administering the anesthesia, requiring a second IV. After the procedure I was told that 3 polyps were removed, but that they were neither cancerous nor pre-cancerous, and that they recommended the standard recommendation of a colonoscopy every 5 . However, at my follow-up appointment with my Primary Care Physician, he indicated that the polyps were in fact pre-cancerous, and that I was in a higher risk category where a colonoscopy was recommended every 3 years. My PCP was also shocked at the extremely high cost Chandler Endoscopy has charged/is attempting to charge. Based on the ongoing billing issues, excessive charges, duplicate billing, refusal to respond/clarify, issues with the procedure itself, and failure to provide accurate information afterward, I would strongly recommend going elsewhere for a procedure.

I am terribly disappointed with my experience with Chandler Endoscopy center. I was referred here by Arizona Digestive Health in January of this year for my colonoscopy. I was told that I would receive a call before my procedure to inform me of my out of pocket cost once it was submitted to my insurance for approval. I did not. I will own a portion of this, I did not receive a call nor did I follow up with the center to see what the out of pocket cost would be. I was desperate at the time to get some answers and I was told by my Dr that this is the first best step and at my age I would be eligible to proceed through insurance. I then received my first invoice in Feb of this year. I was charged 8,000$ and my insurance only covered 500$ of this cost. I called the billing number first and all they wanted to do was set up payment plans immediately, not discuss where the disconnect was. Keep in mind I was on hold for 30 minutes before I spoke with anyone. I then proceeded to call the office, I left a message with Rosie 02-25-25 for the office manager Heather to discuss what the next steps were with the bill. I was confused, because I was assured that my insurance would cover the procedure. I did not receive a call back, so I left messages for Heather on 02-27 and 03-04. On 03-05 I did finally get a call back stating not to pay anything, they were resubmitting the bill to my insurance provider. I continued to receive calls and invoices from the center, so I called the office again on the following dates 03-14 (Angelica), 03-18, 03-27 and again I was assured that it was re-submitted to my carrier and I need not do anything at that point. I left it alone for about a month, then the calls and invoices continued to roll in. I called the office on 04-30, spoke with Heather and she assured me that she would be reaching out to their billing department directly to discuss with them what the issue was. I never received a call back, so I called on 06-19 spoke with Heather again and I was told the same. She would reach out to their billing department and call me back. There are some significant lapses, however I do work 50 hours a week and do not have the time to call everyday. I then had a heart attack in July, so I was out of commission for quite some time. In August I started to receive calls and text messages from a collection agency. They did not leave voicemails, I can only assume that it is regarding this matter. I called to speak with Heather on 08-07 and left her a message regarding this matter and to this date I have not received a call back. I am only to assume that since it has gone to collections, they deem the matter as closed on their end. I then researched pricing on my own if I was to pay cash and not go through insurance. I received prices ranging from 2-4k. So again I am to assume that we raised the rate because we are going through insurance? Now I am stuck with a 7500$ bill that was sent to collections, when I was assured they were resubmitting on several occasions. The whole procedure took less than 10 minutes (or 1,000$ per hour) At this point I do not know what to do, I will be paying for a colonoscopy that was recommended for the rest of my life along with the ER bills that are going to start rolling in from my heart attack. I will say this in closing, everyone was very nice, professional and made me feel very calm before and after the procedure. I just want to give everyone a heads up, do your due diligence before you agree to anything with this company As they will not do it for you, even though they tell you so. Bryant S.

Procedure and staff were great what sucks is their billing department. I was supposed to get a call detailing what my portion of the bill would be, did not receive a call so I called the morning of the procedure. I was assured everything was covered by insurance. Weeks later I get a bill for over $2000. Two calls to the billing department and I am assured they are resubmitting bill, do not pay anything, ignore the bill, they will call me back. The only call I did get was a few weeks later from a collection agency. I have filed a complaint to BBB and Chandler has ignored this. Edit: I never heard back, shocking. Then last week I started receiving text and emails about owing the $2k. I previously filed a complaint with BBB and Chandler never responded to the complaint. I was not aware they could ignore a complaint. I guess they just don't care.
