Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through — a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

I've had several colonoscopies thru the years. Dr. PADDA and his staff had good reasons to cancel at the last minute. A gastric bypass that I underwent 15 years prior meant prepping was only partially successful, and my extraordinarily high blood pressure only added to the probability of cancellation. But they took the time and effort to get me clean and stable in spite of their busy itinerary. After the procedure, I left with color photos of the results, which was the first and only time that's ever taken place!

I was very impressed how quickly I was able to get in for an appointment and have my procedure scheduled. Dr. Bath was very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. The office staff were also great! By far one of the easiest and best experiences (the best you can have when going through a medical procedure) I have experienced. Thank you!

Anyone having a colonoscopy performed knows it isn’t the most pleasant experience during the “prep” time before the actual procedure. But once I arrived at the out patient clinic, everyone I met was very friendly and professional. The receptionist and the nurses were just great and made you as comfortable as possible. The anesthesiologist was terrific and Dr Singh was very nice as well. The procedure was really painless and it was quick. Overall, I was very happy and I’d recommend them to anyone.

I had an excellent experience at the Arizona Endoscopy Center. From check-in to recovery, the staff was polite, courteous, and very respectful. They made me feel comfortable, explained everything clearly, and treated me with genuine care. The facility was clean, professional, and well-organized, which gave me peace of mind throughout the process. I truly appreciate the level of professionalism and kindness shown by everyone I encountered. Highly recommend!
