Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Epidural Steroid InjectionsSteroid medication is injected near irritated spinal nerve roots to calm inflammation causing sciatica or arm pain. Often used to make physical therapy tolerable rather than as a standalone cure. There are limits on how frequently they can be repeated.Nerve Block InjectionsAnesthetic, sometimes with steroid, is injected around a specific nerve to interrupt pain signals. Used both to treat pain and to identify its source, since relief from a precisely placed block points to the nerve responsible.Radiofrequency AblationHeat generated by radio waves disables the small nerves carrying pain signals from an arthritic spinal joint. Relief commonly lasts six months to two years. Because the nerves regenerate over time, the procedure can be repeated.Spinal Cord StimulationA device delivers mild electrical pulses to the spinal cord to interrupt chronic pain signals before they reach the brain. A temporary trial period is done first, so you can judge the benefit before committing to a permanent implant.Joint InjectionsSteroid or lubricating medication is injected directly into an arthritic or inflamed joint. Image guidance is often used to confirm placement. Relief typically lasts weeks to months and can make physical therapy more productive.Trigger Point InjectionsA local anesthetic is injected into a taut, tender knot of muscle to break the spasm-and-pain cycle. The appointment takes minutes and you can usually return to normal activity the same day.

This facility has been very inept at handling my husband’s scheduled procedure. It has been rescheduled x3 with it finally getting done the 4th time (but still rescheduled to an earlier time without our knowledge). The first time it was rescheduled because the doctor had a flight delay, I can accept that it was during the government shutdown were all people with lives to live outside of work. The 2nd it was rescheduled without our knowledge to a morning so it was canceled for that day. The 3rd was not this facility’s fault. I’ve never had family members or myself be scheduled for a procedure that wasn’t notified or reminded by an email, text, or phone call. A simple confirmation of time the day before or even business day before the procedure would be courteous. I’ve been to other Banner Outpatient Centers, not sure why this one runs so inefficiently. Maybe management? Maybe the providers? Perhaps all the above?

I really enjoyed working crew. So friendly so udnerstanding. I didn't have any payment issues, I just explained my benefits and deductibles with out of pocket limits, manager understood and we agreed on pay. After insurace kicked in, billing center reimbursed money without any problem. I even didn't look at insurance statement, all I got is money back. Later I checked it was correct amount. Planning on having second surgery there soon. As I said crew is friendly, they even brought me warm balnket cause I was feeling cold. then they helped me to calm down because it was my first surgery. Very friendly and careful. Also I should admit communication skills, and huge empathy towards the patient. Be good and people be good to you.

I dont know why people even fill these reviews out nothing happens. I went for a nerve block, I chose to be sedated. They could not get my ivy started. I was stuck six times. Then they said, we can do without sedation, I said, no.. They'd try to stick me one more time. Didn't get it. The doctor never came and talked to me. The nurse never said anything to me. I got up and left. So the same day I called it's a surgery center and said, the doctor will call me today. He never did.. So the next day i called back to the surgery center. They told me reason the doctor didn't come see me. They would have had to charge my insurance a visit..Cause they didn't do the procedure. This place sucks .They tell u fill out another review for what .. There is no accountability at this place. Whatsoever? And it's real sad, it's like they just gave up on me. And yes, there are procedures on how many times you get stuck. But what do you do.

Clean friendly organized and efficient! Everything is so smooth from the time you hit the door in, to the time you leave! Cheryl at the reception desk was so kind to me and didn’t treat me like a number! Every nurse has been excellent on every level Diana and Mandy took such good care of me! Dr. Crooks has been the best Dr. above and beyond all of my expectations. He talks with you not at you, cares deeply about his patients and has helped me tremendously. I was highly recommended by multiple clients of mine and now I know why! Thank you Desert vista team your are all amazing!

I had a second procedure performed yesterday June 4th, 2025. My experience with the front desk was smooth and uneventful, same as my first visit. Shortly after completing my check in I was called to get prepped for my procedure. 2 nurses worked efficiently and effectively and were warm, friendly and positive reassuring me everything would be fine. I was taken to the surgery room, Dr Crooks greeted me and asked how the last procedure went. How could he remember me from 5 months ago? Everyone in the room seemed to be concerned about my comfort. I woke up in the recovery area. Asked how I was feeling offered me juice and we talked. I asked her, aren't you from Chicago and she laughed, she remembered me from my visit in January. I realize any procedure can be stressful and make one uneasy but the staff at the surgery center treated me with kindness and caring and should be commended for their work. So, I was caught off guard when I saw the ratings and decided that positive experiences needed to be shared. My 2 experiences have been outstanding, and I would recommend this surgery center to anyone. If I could I would rate this a 10 I would. Thank you to all involved for making my 2 visits a pleasure.
