Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through — a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

Dr. Moussa and staff are amazing, Sarah is an amazing nurse. Everyone in this facility is awesome. The clinic in the back is the same. I would give it 10 out of 5 stars if I could UPDATE: Ever since Dr. Moussa went into semi-retirement Adobe has fallen apart without his leadership. No one answers the phones, no one returns voicemails. The only phone that gets answered is the research clinic and unfortunately they cannot schedule appointments.

This was my second "visit" to Adobe Gastroenterology. Honestly, I wouldn't have come a second time if I didn't receive excellent care my first time here (in 1999). This time was no different. Dr. Hack is excellent, answered all my questions, and my procedure was quick and uneventful. He has a very reassuring manner. The nurses are professional and friendly. I felt well cared for. I do recommend this office and Dr. Hack. My apologies for not taking pictures. I would have if I thought I could get away with it (wink).

Having a colonoscopy is no walk in the park; that said, the team at Adobe Gastroenterology made it pleasant. During these days of COVID-19, we wear masks to help protect others, and because of that, we don't see the smiles of another individual. That said, I could see a smile in the eyes of the staff that took care of me during my visit. Wearing a mask at work eight hours a day can be challenging as well, but the team at Adobe was still able to bring that smile and care to the forefront. While every person that touched my morning was kind and professional, I do want to mention two people that stood out. First was Melody, who took care of scheduling my procedure. Melody, your kindness and consideration were so appreciated. Thank you! Then there was Tina. From the moment you called me in the waiting room to the completion of the procedure, your communication was calming and instructive. Dr. Moussa, the clinic, comes across as a team of people working well together with patients' needs being #1. I have referred people to your office in the past and will continue to moving forward.

My entire colonoscopy experience, from the first consultation until check-out after recovery, was extraordinary! My prep instructions were perfect. Every single person who talked with me was incredibly pleasant. I noticed that the air quality and temperature of the rooms was ideal. People's communication was crystal clear. I really liked talking to Doctor Moussa in recovery. He took his time and was very enthusiastic and kind.
