Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through β€” a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

Great experience here with Carly, Jennifer, Dolores and other staff members. They were so patient and kind, and didn't hesitate to repeat directions or explain things twice. As a disabled person, this means everything to me. It shows a care and respect for their patients that goes above and beyond. Would happily refer other patients here. 5-star service!

I went in for an endoscopy and the experience was excellent from start to finish. Erica was super professional with checking me in, even with a prior upset patient. Raven was super kind and a pro at handling all the prep, IV and all. Laura and Julie were awesome with prepping for the anesthesia and getting me comfy for it. Best sleep I’ve had ngl. Brie was super polite with recovery briefing after I woke up and answered all my questions. And lastly Dr Mezher was uber quick with the procedure and a savant at what he does πŸ‘Œ. Really superb experience and awesome people all around ❀️

Oh my God what can I say? This place is so lucky to have Carly as a NP. She literally saved my life. I went in to see her for a check up but wasn't feeling well and had pain she basically forced me to go to the ER and it's a great thing I did. Less then two weeks later I was having my gallbladder removed. Carly is amazing and it's comforting to know there's still medical professionals who actually do care 😘

I am so surprised and saddened to read negative reviews for such a wonderful office! Every single person I've dealt with over the years has been caring, thoughtful, and helpful Every time I have dealt with them. Unlike some people I understand how extremely busy ALL medical and dental office's are nowadays and I'm just so grateful to know that when I call or go to Swan Gastro I am going to be met by someone who actually cares about what I am dealing with and a doctor who always takes care of me!!! I thank everyone at that office for all your hard work and dedication!!!
