On the day of my surgery they gave me an estimated price and then it ended up being significantly more expensive. In talking with their billing department they agreed to honor the prior estimate because apparently it was illegal to have misjudged the amount by so much. So having talked to their billing they agreed everything was paid for. Then, 1.5 years later I contacted them because my insurance had tried to get billing information from them for months and apparently they turned over a significant portion of the billing to a collections agency even after they agreed the bill was paid. They are disorganized scammers.

I have never left a unfavorable Google review, so this will be the first time. I had surgery on my Achilles and big toe joint in Nov. of 2024. When I showed up for surgery, I was told there was a 3 hour delay, on a Friday afternoon. I wasn't taken back until 2:30 pm, for a four hour surgery, at then end of a the work week. I learned the hard way (multiple denied insurance claims and missing EOB statements) about the wrong birth date AND wrong address entered incorrectly by the surgery center, problems with coding and billing for pathology (LabCorp), and now problems with incorrect coding issues for anesthesia (ASMG), that as of May 19 2025, I am STILL trying to sort out. I have had Tricare Prime since 1992, and have had many surgeries for skin cancer, with no issues from other providers or medical facilities. I do not recommend this surgery center.

This review is long overdue. I had to get surgery here on my foot back in January after a 5th metatarsal fracture. I had a lot of anxiety leading up to my surgery. I couldn’t have asked for a better medical team to trust during that time. From the minute I walked in I was cared for with such kindness and patience. The nurses (I can’t remember their names) unfortunately were the best. My anesthesiologist was the absolute best and my surgeon Dr.Que has been nothing but amazing this entire process for me. Post surgery was amazing. I woke up to the nicest staff with some cookies and juice. Overall I would highly recommend anyone in San Diego to have surgery if they can here. If you have an upcoming surgery and you are nervous like how I was. I promise you, they’ll treat you so good you’ll forget why you had nerves in the first place. Thanks again Carlsbad staff!

I had my umbilical hernia repaired today and I was SO impressed with the staff and care I received. From the start it was obvious I wasn't just a patient. They really care a lot and want to make sure you're comfortable. Incredibly clean place, the hook your gown up to a heater and you watch TV and relax. Before you know it you're asleep and awake and it's all done! The first thing I wanted was coffee and they immediately grabbed me a cup. Snacks and everything as well. Seriously I felt so cared for!!! Highly highly recommend!!!!

Excellent center with wonderful and competent staff. They have high ratings online and they earned them. I was worried about infections. I called them and they let me talk with the person who cleans the endoscopes. Imagine! A total stranger calls, a person who never had been there before and they spent a lot of time reassuring and more importantly informing me of their safety procedures and policies. I had the endoscopy with no problems whatsoever. Best experience I could have hoped for in my best possible hopeful imagination. I highly recommend this Center and intend to use it again in a few months for my next colonoscopy. Getting old means a lot of unexpected medical interventions, but having a place with caring and competent staff like the Carlsbad Surgery Center makes these interventions a lot less frightening.
