They must have no office workers because you have to do everything yourself here. Think about filling out paper work with every since piece of medical/dental history you have and every medication. You must do this before your visit, online, in a portal that does not auto fill anything. Now imagine being over 65+ and trying to do this alone. The only thing they didn’t ask my mother on these forms was how to perform the surgery itself.
zero stars for the transport person who discharged me in haste so that she could quit her shift and wheelchair me out of recovery like she was a NASCAR driver while I was vomiting the entire time and then she tried to force me to leave and get in my friend's car when I couldn't even get out of the wheelchair because I was vomiting and I asked them to bring me back inside and she took a serious attitude when I asked to be brought back inside when she had made me vomit because of her rough handling I've left a message for the medical director and I've yet to hear back from anyone The nursing staff other than this transport person was top-notch they were they were great they treated me with respect and when I was brought back in my nurse that had been taking care of me all afternoon took charge again and saw that I was OK but I couldn't stand sitting there listening to the other woman complaining that I was brought that back in after she's the one who caused me to vomit . i've left a message and I've also leaving this message here I'd like to hear a return call from the medical Director this is not how you treat patients a discharge especially when they've told you that anesthesia makes them very sick and when I've asked for medication so that I didn't get sick I was also refuse that at the beginning of my consultation with the anesthesiologist I think I was given one oral dose as I was walking out the door and I still vomited all the way home because of the poor handling of the transporter. My doctor did a wonderful job I have no complaints with my doctor or the nursing staff or the operating nursing staff terrific but this transport person is a reason I will never ever return back to your facility
The Specialty Surgical Center of Encino LOST MY BIOPSY! Can you believe that a medical lab can stay in business when they're losing patient tissue samples?? And they charged my insurance company $10,000 as if they did nothing wrong! This company needs to get sued! 16 tissue samples taken from my prostate while I was under anesthesia...not a very comfortable recovery and I had to clear my schedule months in advance to get this done. It took them a month to tell me that they lost it when I was calling for updates after the first week. AND I was told that another person who had the same surgical procedure that day also had their tissue samples lost by the lab. This place needs a wakeup call and I'm going to do everything I can to get the Medical Board involved in this.
Overall the service from the nursing staff was great. No complaints there. My issue is more around the billing department. When I checked in, I had to pay my deductible which was fine, I was expecting that. What I didn't expect was for them to wait 2 months before submitting their claim to my insurance company. By that time I had met my deductible with the surgeon. When i reached out to my insurance company I found out that the Surgical center owed me about 60% back. I've sent emails and left voice mails but no will return my calls. I've given them ample enough time to respond before leaving this rating. If they ever give me my money back I'll be more than happy to change this rating. FOLLOW UP: I just received a refund check. I'm greatful for that but a little more communication from the billing dept would have been nice. Raising up 2 more stars
I am disappointed with my second experience here since I have been waiting for two hours already, and it seems like the medical professionals in charge of attending patients are lagging., Nobody will let you know unless you take initiative by asking them yourself because they clearly dont care about keeping us informed. They don't validate.
