The surgery center itself is fine, but billing is a nightmare. The center failed to submit a claim to my insurance correctly, so I have not received a refund for the $1500 bill I paid when I underwent surgery in September, and I now have over $30000 in pending fees. The billing center almost never picks up, and upon asking about the current status of insurance they promise to call back and do not.

They deserve negative stars IMO! I did not have a choice to use Fremont Surgery Center since my surgeon was the one who picked it. If you do have a choice ,BEWARE AND STAY AWAY IF POSSIBLE! THEY ARE THIEVES and will STEAL YOUR MONEY!! I had surgery back in May and although I have health insurance, I was told I need to pay well above my deductible, which was odd, but if I did not pay the amount I was being forced into on the day of my surgery when I was already onsite, then I was told my surgery would be canceled. I really needed the surgery and it couldn't wait so I had no choice but to be charged what I thought was well above what would be the "patient responsibility" after the costs were settled through insurance. Sure enough, the insurance came back and said my "patient responsibility" was almost $500 LESS than what I paid - in other words, I was OVERCHARGED almost $500. FSC already got paid by my insurance in July and I've been trying to get refunded for the overcharged amount ever since but they still have my money. I can understand if it took a few weeks to get credited, but 4 months IS A COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE PRACTICE. FCS basically stole almost $500 from me and it shouldn't be this difficult to get it back.

Had shoulder surgery (rotator cuff & bicep) on 2/22/24. Worst experience ever!!! Staff literally pushed me out into the parking lot before I’d met with my doctor after my surgery and was still feeling very anesthetized. It was pretty apparent they had overbooked procedures that day and needed to clear me out (I saw them cleaning the spot I was in from the wheelchair they’d put me in). My husband had called from the waiting room asking if he could come in and speak to the doctor or any nurses and told him “just go out to the parking lot” where they proceeded to wheel me out with a sling improperly affixed to my arm and shoulder! Worst surgery center and experience ever-not even instructing -telling or showing me how to wear the sling properly! They sure did demand full payment upon walking in the door though!!! Had to call billing back twice to leave messages for a return call for a copy of my bill & procedure. Turns out my insurance had already paid them and it was literally like pulling teeth to get a refund. Crooks! Had to call multiple calls to get some money back and they couldnt explain the bill. Very unhappy about everything.
