I experienced excellent care from the nurses and doctor during a colonoscopy procedure. I was extremely happy with my overall experience.

I learned the hard way that there is only one colorectal surgeon in Modesto-and heβs at Kaiser. Dr Vida Chen perforated me during a routine colonoscopy and refused to acknowledge the signs and symptoms that something was wrong. She overly aggressively removed a flat polyp in one piece that proved to be benign. She tried repeatedly to continue the scope, but I refused to let her, knowing that sepsis was a critical concern and time was of the essence. I had to go by ambulance to the hospital in the same parking lot, because the bed I was sedated in on the second floor in the Briggsmore Surgery Center was too long for the elevator to get me out-according to the staff. I am the 5th person that I know of to be perforated there. I highly recommend getting colonoscopies in an area where a colorectal surgeon is available in an emergency-as was my case.
