I visited Peninsula Eye Surgery Center to remove the cataract in my right eye. Worst part was was 8am drive down 101. My wife was a trooper driving through the traffic then a bit of construction on El Camino Real. She dropped me off at 9 and left for coffee and shopping. I checked in and paid the surgery center. After a short wait I was relaxing in the chair a little nervous until taking my valium. The rest was a day at the spa. Staff babied me through. "Stay awake, please." Then it was over (2.5 hours?) and I was being walked to my wife's waiting car. Dark glasses. I felt great.

When it comes to surgery, you want to make sure that you are being taken cared of both physically & mentally because it can be scary! I had two nurses pre-op & they were the sweetest women, ever. they made sure to assist me with the anxiety I was experiencing & handled me very gently. they listened to how I was feeling, spoke softly to me, & reassured that I was in great hands (& they were so right). they did not invalidate me once & this is so important to me. The anesthesiologist, the OR team, & the post-op nurse were all so beyond sweet. I couldn't believe how kind & gentle everyone was! I have had terrible experiences in the past & this one surpasses everything negative I have experienced. it was so positive that if I ever have to go through this kind of surgery again, I know for a fact that I will be taken cared of. on top of everything, the pre-op, OR, and post-op teams sent me a post-card with their hand written gestures of kindness & well wishes. not many places do that! it brought the happiest tears to my eyes & I am so full of gratitude to them. I would recommend this eye surgery center every time. 5/5 for everything!

OK, and a lot of people‘s lives there’s a point in which they require cataract surgery. There’s an awful lot places you can go to have that done and a lot of amazing doctors who do these surgeries I live in Marin county but chose to have my cataract surgery done by doctor David Chang in Los Altos and was blessed to use the services of Peninsula eye surgery center in Mountain View. I’ve had to use surgery centers before for all kinds of fun things like knees, etc. but I have to tell you this organization is amazing from their staff of nurses to their anesthesiologist to their front office people They are just amazing, kind thorough, gentle demeanor, and very welcoming although I don’t recommend doing this more than twice unless you have a third eye, I really enjoyed my experience there and actually to be quite honest. I was excited for my return visit for my second eye. I just felt so Safe and secure. They take very good care of you. Thank you to everyone of Peninsula Eye surgery center you guys are amazing.

On June 4 2024, I had cataract surgery on both eyes at the Peninsula Eye Surgery Center. My experience was wonderful. I checked in and was taken to the procedure area almost immediately. Without exception, everyone with whom I dealt was wonderful. Everyone was kind, friendly, gracious, and competent. I felt very safe and very relaxed. I was kept informed of exactly what was happening and what I could expect. One of the technicians noticed a mistake on one of the forms and made sure we corrected it. I highly recommend Peninsula Eye Surgery Center
