This place is the Disneyland of colonoscopies š Seriously, the warm and friendly smiles from the entire staff, from check-in to discharge, were excellent anxiety busters. They magically transformed an inherently awkward day to a comfortable and pleasant one. Dr Ardigo was naturally reassuring. Ric (CRNA) and Shelly (prep RN) were thorough and funny. Also got A+ service from Rina (recovery RN) and Dianne (nursing assistant). Thank you dearly, ECIE for making it easy!!!
So disappoint with the service at this center. They made a big deal about my large deductible. Only to find out I over paid them $865.96. The procedure was done in June and I have yet to get my overpayment back. I have been told multiple times the. Heck would be cut and yet it is never received. Called in August, September and October. Now Iām reporting them to the medical board. This is not a good practice and I would be very careful on what you pay them. Find another center as I am apparently not the only one. It was like a revolving door there and they are making big bucks!!
First off, the nurses, including the nurse anesthetist, are AWESOME. They are kind, caring individuals who make very awkward, embarrassing procedures (like colonoscopies) less traumatizing. And, frankly, any procedure you have here won't be fun, so the lengths these individuals go to (like simultaneously joking about, yet somehow making you comfortable about things like passing massive amounts of gas) in order to make your experience better shouldn't be diminished. From the moment you check in with the receptionist to the last nurse you see, you'll feel taken care of. The nurses and receptionist should be given 5 stars. Butt.... (pun intended) they aren't the only ones who work there. The doctor who attended me (and whose name reminds me of a Game of Thrones house, but whose name I can't recall for multiple reasons) greeted me approximately 15 seconds before I went under anesthesia. Luckily, the nurse anesthetist sort of warned me about it by telling me what to expect. I started to panic right after meeting the doctor, but my knight in shining propofol put me under before I could freak out too much. I woke up probably 30 minutes later. Again, a wonderful human in the form of a nurse greeted me and assured me everything was just fine, and the doctor would be along shortly to talk about my procedure. She helped me get dressed (in my "drunken" state,) helped me off the bed and into a wheelchair, took my vitals, and, again (10 minutes later) said the doctor would be right in. I was wheeled out of the curtained area, put aside, told again the doctor would along to talk to me, and that my ride had been called and was waiting for me. 10 minutes after that a nurse came to talk to me. She said the doctor was in another procedure and that I had the choice to wait for him to talk to me or to go home. I chose to go home. I had met the doctor, who ended up shoving a camera up my butt while I was sound asleep, for all of 5 seconds. He didn't even tell me how the procedure went, the nurses did. Maybe there was an emergency or a complication with the next procedure, but the nurses didn't give that impression. Thank goodness I was asleep for my procedure. I don't even know what I expected from my first colonoscopy, but now, my hyper-critical, self-blaming, super-self-loathing mind thinks I did something wrong while I was anesthetized, and that's why the doctor didn't want to talk to me. š¤·āāļø I'll try to do better for my next colonoscopy. Thank goodness the nurses said my first one was normal, and that I don't need another one for 10 years!
My experience was excellent, I was nervous about being sedated and the nurses were wonderful, kept me calm and talked me through each step. Very friendly and even called me the next day to check in. My insurance company would not pay entire bill on the consultation and the billing people so nice and allowed me to make payments. Highly recommend this facility.
Run far away. You will not get any help if you need after care. I called at 9:30. After being on hold for 30 minutes transferred to voice mail for the nurse. Called again at 11:30. After being on hold another 30 minutes, told the nurses were at lunch and leave another voice mail. Started calling again at 2:30. Line busy for 30 minutes. Got through at 3:00. Turns out the nurses do not return calls after 2:00 until the next day. Asked to speak to an Office Manger and surprise surprise was transferred to another voicemail. My option is to go to Urgent Care or the ER since they cannot be bothered to call me back. This is just crazy.
