I am extremely disappointed with this surgery center. After my procedure, I received two surprise bills that were never disclosed or estimated in advance - a direct violation of the No Surprises Act (NSA). Under federal law, I was entitled to a Good Faith Estimate, which I never received. When I raised this issue, the surgery center was uncooperative and dismissive in resolving or even discussing the matter. This is unacceptable behavior from any healthcare provider. Patients deserve transparency, legal compliance, and respect. I would caution anyone considering this facility to proceed carefully, get everything in writing, and be prepared to advocate for your rights.

I came here for a much needed cortisone injection in my spine and I’ll add that I need no less than 4 injections throughout this year however when I registered I filled out a hardship form for the 250.00 fee and due to only social security income of less than 1000.00 I was approved and didn’t owe anything. I was so happy knowing I could be out of pain soon until yesterday when I was sent a bill for 650.00. Come on now, if I couldn’t afford to pay 250 I surely couldn’t pay 650. Dr. Celis gave me the injections and so far so good bc I’m still pain free over a month later. Here’s my dilemma which isn’t much of a dilemma but bc of these charges I’ll be unable to get any more medical treatment from Dr. Celis bc I can’t afford to. Had I’ve known they were going to nail me for 650, I wouldn’t have had any treatment but instead I’d have continued hobbling along with a cane. Social security just doesn’t pay enough for me to pay this so I could send them 2-3.00 a month and they would not accept this. I’m screwed and need to find another pain control doctor who gives injections in his office. I hate changing doctors but I have no other choice so thank you North Bay Regional Surgery Center for this nightmare mess y’all are putting me through…..b

Doctor Solomon is awesome. He's not only an excellent surgeon, he has a wonderful bedside manner. His P.A.s Nicole and Louisa, and the rest of the team at Sutter - Trish, Savannah, Ben and Mariebella - made my sugary experience as comfortable and easy as can be expected. They were warm, kind, funny and attentive. Thanks for making my surgery as pleasant as a surgery can be. - Deborah in San Rafael

To be fair, my surgery went off without a hitch. HOWEVER, I was called by NBRSC hours before my surgery and told to bring a check worth 5 thousand dollars in order to have my surgery. This is very irregular, I almost decided not to even have the surgery (clavicle repair) but went ahead with it thinking it would be worked out eventually. I paid the five grand as I was desperate. They also told me that this would represent my limit for my insurance so all the other medical bills would be fully covered. This was totally incorrect, I never should've paid in advance (who even asks that of a patient?) and my insurance company told me that not only did I not hit my limit, but that a provider can't say anything about insurance limits and that they paid a majority of that amount. I have called the billing department here and never received a call back. I believe they owe me somewhere from 3 to 4 thousand dollars back. Even if I get it back, which remains to be seen obviously, the way that went down was extremely misleading and strange. The doctor who did the surgery, my insurance company, friend and family all said that was extremely bizarre. Is this normal practice at NBRSC? If I receive the money I'm owed, perhaps I'll change this review but as it is they provided an adequate place to receive surgery and that's where the good ends. Presenting a patient with an extortionate, pre-surgery bill, which I had no choice but to pay if I wanted to have my (necessary) surgery, is bizarre and I'm wondering why they would ever do it that way.
