I'm happy to give a review of the Outpatient Surgery of Del Mar. It was an unexpected and pleasurable experience I had at this center. Everyone was pleasant and respectful and treated me with the utmost of concern. I was made comfortable and informed of each step they were to perform, way which help me to relax my questions and concerns were answered and everyone I asked a question was knowledgeable

The location is not well marked with signage . It is in the lower level of the building and difficult to locate. They called me the day before and provided me with the time of the procedure. I waited 1.30 minutes in a small, windowless cramped waiting room. The nurse did call me in and took me to an another room. The room was messy. There was no hand washing before giving me the eye drops! I was sent back to the waiting room for more waiting. My procedure was less than -a minute long but there I was still waiting now also concerned with the hygiene of the place. I decided to leave as I could not wait any longer. I asked for a refund and the receptionist charged my card again instead of giving me a refund !!! I went out of network for this and experience. It is important to remember how much money we pay for healthcare here … the experience made me feel I was receiving this care as charity! I would not recommend. .

I was treated wonderfully. There wasn't much of a waiting period, the admission process was quick and easy and everyone made sure I was informed and comfortable. I had an excellent experience with my eye surgery.

My nurse Dawn and supporting team were amazing helping me through the nervousness if a surgical eye procedure, keeping me comfortable and informed, engaging with me the whole way. I felt their genuine care and professionalism. The tools they have to care for you are fantastic. I was in great hands. Thanks!

I do NOT believe the HORRIBLE way I was treated. Your loved one is taken to surgery & you are NOT permitted to wait for them in the waiting area where there is WiFi. You're told that you may go to a nearby mall or to another floor where there is NO WiFi. The front desk staff is not apologetic in the least. They are quite happy to collect their money though. What an awful place. I don't know why a surgeon would ever choose to use this facility when there are so many others in San Diego that treat patients AND their loved ones with kindness and courtesy.
