Was originally told that my insurance authorization went through and that there would be no out-of-pocket expenses on my end; however, just three days before my surgical date they called me saying I had to pay a $3200 fee or else my surgery would be canceled. I was never explained what this cost was for. When asked for payment options/ financial help they referred me to a credit website with extremely high interest rates and told me that was my only option. Really bummer experience and would definitely do my research before having a surgery here.

I can't say enough good things about Post Street Surgical Center. Everything from checking-in, surgery, to after-care is such a comforting and easy process. I didn’t have any issues with insurance or billing. The cost and explanations were provided to me in writing well in advance of the surgery date. But, the best thing about Post Street is the nurses and staff that work there. I appreciate everyone of them for being such kind and amazing people.

I was told they would not do the surgery because my insurance was notorious for not paying. I paid 19K up front which was due back should my insurance pay. Eventually my insurance paid 12k. They refused to give me any amount back stating that my insurance didn't pay for "all the codes". Is this not illegal?

They gave me a non-finalized explanation of benefits and my procedure was going to cost significantly less than I had worried. The procedure went without a hitch and all staff were gracious to me, No word yet from my insurance when I finally pay.

They asked me for 11k up front the day of surgery just for the facility fee. Then told me they refused to do my surgery unless I paid at least $3,000 of it. I have never heard of a facility trying to bill a customer without going through insurance first in network or not. My out of pocket max out of network was 8.5k so that 11k they asked for was flat out of nowhere. Now they are asking my insurance for $40,000 and not citing that I paid the $3,000 at all. They are also not giving me an itemized bill, and only listing "outpatient surgery" 5 times They were also rushing me because the anesthesiologist was ready to put me under and they were trying to pressure me to pay them this random 11k out of pocket. Please do not pay them up front, there is something wrong here.
