This is my opinion about my experience. 0-Star. Buyer beware. Colonoscopy mill: rushed, impersonal. Left with suspected splenocolic ligament injury and bruised spleen (exam confirmed; no CT scan). 2+ months of slow healing; no tear, leak, or infection. No follow-up from doctor or center. Reported severe pain—splenic flexure (also called the left colic flexure)—upon emergence—told “go to ER.” Refused. No fever or vomiting. All costs and pain incurred by me. Avoid.

I recently had my procedure done here and was pretty nervous heading into it given...well, the procedure itself, and the terrible reviews of this place. However, my experience was nothing short of excellent, from check in to the actual procedure to follow up. I will return here for any procedure in the future. I noticed some of the reviews comment about subsequent bills - It is a bit annoying when you get follow up bills due to polyps or anesthesia or something - but that is an insurance issue, not necessarily the center's fault. So fight your insurance on it!

I wish I had read these reviews before selecting Dr. Kwon's office for my colonoscopy. I had no issues with Dr. Kwon, but her office staff is beyond rude. I was in for a screening colonoscopy and two polyps were found and removed. I was charged because they found the polyps. However, under the Affordable Care Act, patients should not be charged if polyps are found during a screening colonoscopy. I am appealing with my insurance company, however, this woman Susan from Dr. Kwon's office threatened to send me to collection and then hung up on me. What kind of treatment is this? If their staff treats their patient so rudely, what does that say about their practice? Beyond disappointed, and unfortunately, probably nothing will get done because there is no way to give this feedback to the doctors who might then actually do something to ensure their staff can better represent their practice and serve their patients.

UPDATE: changed to 5 stars given the excellent care from Dr Ripper, Dr Fan and all the nurses. I was probably grouchy from not eating for over 24hrs! haven’t received the colonoscopy yet so can’t comment on that. However, already annoyed by the check in process. Arrived at 8:45am for my 10am appt. No one else in line but they just told me to have a seat. Like an idiot, I waited/used the restroom then saw that other people arrived and were asked for ID/Insurance and tons of forms to sign so I went to ask why I didn’t get the same. They apologized but the inefficiency is frustrating. I could have actually read the forms and signed while waiting for the 30 min. Assuming the procedure is a 4 or 5 star, this rating is the average because check in is 1 or less.

The nurses and front end staff are wonderful. I had a great experience on the day of my colonoscopy. However, I was asked to pre-pay my services and when my insurance settled the claim I owed less than I paid. It has been more than 7 months since the date of service and more than 5 months since the claim was settled. I have not been refunded any money. In fact, the center tried to bill me for more money. Both myself and my insurance company have tried contacting the center to recover over $200 of over-payment. Warning, they will require you to pre-pay and may not repay you if you over pay or try to over-charge you for additional money. I waited months to post this review because I wanted to give them a chance to rectify this. But, I feel I should warn others now!
