I haven't seen the low ratings from others, but my experience was exceptional. From the moment I shared my fears with the nurse (I think her name was Nanami), she showed great compassion. The warm blanket they provided was a nice touch. I researched Dr. Shieh and knew I was in good hands. During the procedure, the team was accommodating and ensured I was comfortable. Although I experienced pain, Dr. Shieh and Nurse Nanami were attentive and supportive. I’m grateful to have Dr. Shieh as my GI and appreciate the wonderful care from the team!

Don't go to this surgery center. Not because of the doctor but the nurses here. The director and head nurse Tonia Le who is in charge of this center is very rude, unfriendly, hostile, unprofessional, and has poor skills. I've had a colonoscopy here before with no problems. So this time I made an appointment with my doctor to do a gastroscopy here. Two nurses tried to give me an intravenous drip, but they were unsuccessful. Tonia Le came with a dark face and bad attitude. I saw that she was completely unsure, so I asked her if she had the confidence to do it, but she ignored me completely and started to try anyway. She kept poking at the back of my hand here and there for a long time with no success, causing me severe pain. I asked her if she could get the nurse who did the IV for me from the past colonoscopy procedure to do it because she succeeded the first time. She said with a bad attitude, "That nurse is my student. I taught her. I am the best here. If I can't do it well, I won't let others do it." I asked to speak to the person in charge, and she said she was the supervisor and director here, but she also said she didn't know if the nurse who helped me last time was here today. "I won't change nurses for you again, because I am the best.  I have 25 years of experience. You can either let me try again or leave. " I asked to talk to my doctor, and she said that the doctor was busy and had no time to talk to me, even though it's my scheduled time with the doctor now. It took me more than a month to make this appointment for a gastroscopy. In the end, I had to leave without doing the procedure because of their unprofessionalism. After I decided to leave, Tonia Le actually said she would ask security to escort me out! After returning home, my arm and hand were swollen and bruised for more than a week. In the past year, I had surgery, CT with contrast, and never had any problems with intravenous drips.

I had the Colonoscopy procedure done by Dr. Brian Levitt on 4/7/23. He's an awesome doctor. He performed the procedure very well as he also explained the result later on, in a timely manner. His staff also are amazing. The nurses Binh and Sue Jean were also awesome. I couldn't thank them enough. I have had several colonoscopy procedures in the past twenty years (one every five years) but this one was the best ever. God bless the doctor, the nurses and keep them safe, for many years to come.

This review is for the Surgery Center itself, NOT the people who performed the actual medical procedure. We went to the surgery center and were greeted by a very pleasant gentleman in the parking lot who assisted us with parking. Once inside the office we spoke to two polite and efficient ladies at the check-in area who gave us numerous legal forms to read and sign. We were told that if we had any question, just let them know. We did have a question regarding the blanket authorization of any other unrelated operation that the Surgery Center might deem appropriate. When I asked what this meant, the ladies at the reception area did not know. They directed me to another lady who was, I believe, the head nurse. She did not seem pleased at all that I questioned what was on their legal forms. I was told by her in an increasingly loud and hostile tone that I was not a lawyer, that all the forms needed to be signed and if we did not sign them that the procedure would not be performed and that, ".....we were free to leave.....". This unprofessional and hostile behavior is completely unacceptable, especially in a medical setting. We still did not find our what all that legalese meant, but in order to proceed, we relented and signed the forms. I would quote you the exact wording, but we were not provided copies of anything we were required to sign. Just a word of warning if you come here. DON'T ASK ANY QUESTIONS!!!

Advanced Surgery Center, either this place makes huge profit or competition is incrediblely high. Can you imagine a Surgery place crowded more than busy hours of Walmart super center? Early morning bringing my mom for an eye surgery, arrived around 8:30 for scheduled 930 surgery, only one disabled parking spot available ( this place has only 5 parking total). Entering the waiting room, it was such a big surprise that it is packed full with no seats available ( has about total 30 seats in a room about a bedroom size 15x10). My mom is disabled and has to sit on her walker. It seems the facility scheduling is a mess too. The doctor office says one time and the facility another and the time span between is 3 hours difference for a surgery required fasting. For a senior near 85 years old with high blood pressure and diabetes? One bright side is the facility staffs are nice. If you are here and not satisfied, complain to your doctor, insurance and state health department.
