Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through — a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

I had an endoscopy performed here in late 2025, and the morning of my procedure, I made the mistake of reading all the Google reviews there were at the time. They led me to think I wasn’t going to be sedated and that there wouldn’t be an anesthesiologist in the room. I was pretty freaked out! Neither of those were true. An anesthesiologist is now present for every procedure in this center, and my gastroenterologist, Dr. Salvo, was both reassuring and competent. The center, as far as I’m concerned, is unobjectionable. And Lord knows I love objecting.

We have tried to contact them and the billing center multiple times due to an error in billing as they did not bill Blue Shield correctly, both apologized 5 months ago and let me know they would straighten the billing out but since then have ignored our repeated calls and just continue to send a bill that is not our responsibility. Very unprofessional. Please note that before the treatment they assured us that they would bill this correctly.

Horrible experience. They attempted to explain my procedure when I was waking up from sedation and could not barely see or form a sentence. Gave me fentanyl post op which I specifically instructed not to give! It makes me sick for days. Got a rare bacterial infection right after the procedure which I believe was caused by unclean medical equipment. When I tried to follow up to understand my results they were short and told me it was explained after….WHEN I WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF IT!!! Did not follow up with my ENT or primary doctor as requested. My friend had a similar horrible experience!

The only thing I did not like about the colonoscopy experience was the preparation before the actual procedure. But from the time I entered the office to the time I left, everything was wonderful! The ladies at reception could not have been nicer or more informative. I then met the nurse, Julie, who had the best bedside manner I ever experienced. She was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and caring through out the procedure. Dr. Salvo performed the procedure and could not have been more comforting in what many would consider an uncomfortable situation. Like Julie, she continued to ask if I needed anything, if I had any questions, and how I was doing. I feel I just can’t compliment this entire office as much as they deserve! Great job ladies!

Incredible demonstration of care by 3 amazing ladies working at this facility. The front desk lady was very welcoming and made me feel calm for my procedure, which was very nerve-racking. Cindy was a fantastic nurse who demonstrated phenomenal people's skills along with her medical knowledge and also made me feel calm. She was friendly, informative, patient, and most importantly "down to earth," making my procedures extremely easier. Lady applying IV was also great. Dr. Kovac is an excellent doctor as well. Thanks, everyone there. You are fantastic.
