Absolutely NEVER schedule a surgery here. They take your money upfront and then refuse to reimburse you even after your insurance company repeatedly approves the claim. Their billing company puts you on hold for an hour before sending you to a broken voicemail box. The patient advocacy group doesn't answer or return calls. While the doctors that utilize this facility are wonderful, I will never allow another surgery to be performed at this corrupt facility. Have had no choice but to go the legal route after 4 months of being stonewalled.
I just had carpal tunnel surgery here a couple days ago. Everything went well, as the staff, from pre-surgery calls, to entry to the center, through surgery, recovery, and release, made things go smoothly. I was treated with respect and compassion. And special kudos to Cheri, my nurse, whose kindness, professionalism, and geniality, made things comfortable from the get-go. Thank you.
I recently underwent a surgery at the Surgery Center of the Pacific in January, and my experience aligns perfectly with the concerns raised by Candymanfb in their review below. I felt compelled to share my own ordeal in the hope that it might serve as a cautionary tale for others. The trouble began right from the start when I was asked to make an upfront payment just minutes before my surgery. Although my insurance had also agreed to cover a portion of the expenses, I was told that paying upfront was mandatory. This was my first hint that something might be amiss. Fast forward seven long months, and I am still embroiled in an agonizing battle to secure my rightful refund. Despite numerous follow-ups and hours spent on hold, the money that should have been reimbursed to me remains elusive. It is astounding that such a reputable establishment could display such a shocking lack of transparency and accountability when it comes to their financial transactions. The recurring issues with the billing department are deeply concerning. It's one thing to endure the physical and emotional stress of surgery, but to have to fight tooth and nail for a refund that should have been straightforward is utterly disheartening. The indifference and apathy displayed by the staff in the billing department only add to the frustration. I feel compelled to share my experience and urge others to exercise extreme caution when considering this surgery center. The risk of falling ill due to the stress and frustration involved in securing a refund from their billing department is simply not worth it. There are undoubtedly better options available, and I strongly advise prospective patients to explore those alternatives. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this surgery center to anyone based on my firsthand experience. The ongoing ordeal with obtaining my refund has been a source of immense frustration and disappointment, and I sincerely hope that others can avoid such a distressing situation. Proceed with caution, and explore alternative options that prioritize patient care and financial transparency.
Insurance fraud by the center’s billing office with two years to get refund. The surgery center required a payment minutes prior to surgery, but refused to reimburse after insurance paid. The center appealed the low payment, but again did not reimburse after the additional insurance payment. They had received payment but did not credit it to the account, because “it was paid below contract”. I informed insurance of the required payment prior to surgery the day of and informed the insurance carrier of what the current situation was. Insurance told me to get documents of personal payment and current account status. When I informed Morgan, the out of state billing representative, of the account status request and the asked some pointed questions - the reimbursement process magically began. If you are a cash patient you’ll be SOL, but if insurance is covering your procedure they are required to only accept one type of payment. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to get the California Department Insurance or my insurance’s fraud department actively involved, but I’m glad this ordeal is done with.
Worst surgery experience ever! My Achilles surgery was scheduled for 9:15 am yesterday and I did not have my surgery done until after 1 pm. No administrative staff notified my wife (who was my transportation) of the delays in the surgery and as a patient, I was left in the dark with my surgeon constantly seeking scheduling answers for me. Additionally, the anesthesiologist was rushed and did not notify me during pre-op that a breathing tube would be placed down my throat during the procedure and this morning, I coughed up blood and am still having difficulty breathing and swallowing. Upon notifying the Surgery Center of the Pacific of this issue during their follow up call, the anesthesiologist called me admitting that she rushed the process and assumed that because I had previous surgeries that I was already aware of the breathing tube. Complete malpractice issue here!
