Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Cataract SurgeryThe clouded natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with a clear artificial one. It is one of the most common outpatient procedures performed in the country, usually takes under 30 minutes per eye, and is done under light sedation with numbing drops rather than general anesthesia.LASIK / Refractive SurgeryA laser reshapes the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, reducing dependence on glasses or contacts. The procedure itself takes minutes per eye. Vision is often noticeably better within a day, though it can take several weeks to fully stabilize.Glaucoma SurgeryCreates a new drainage path for fluid inside the eye to lower internal pressure. Glaucoma damages the optic nerve silently, so the goal is preventing further vision loss rather than restoring vision already lost. Several minimally invasive options are now performed in outpatient settings.Retinal SurgeryRepairs the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, most often for a detached or torn retina, or for bleeding related to diabetes. Timing matters — a detaching retina is treated urgently because delay increases the risk of permanent vision loss.Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)Removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids. When drooping upper lids block part of the visual field, the procedure is functional rather than cosmetic and is often covered by insurance if visual field testing documents the obstruction.Corneal TransplantReplaces damaged or clouded corneal tissue with donor tissue. Modern techniques often replace only the affected layer rather than the full thickness, which shortens recovery. Vision improves gradually over months, and stitches may stay in place for a year or longer.

Procedure list is based on CMS-reported specialty designations. Contact the facility to confirm specific procedures offered.

I had cataract surgery with Dr. Jay Bansal at Laservue Eye Center in Santa Rosa, California. I was referred to him from another cataract surgeon because of how advanced one of my cataracts was. I wanted the premium IOL lens implant if possible, and Dr. Bansal specializes in these premium lens replacements, which is critical if you’re planning on going that route. My experience with Dr. Bansal was amazing. I had complete confidence that I was in the best care possible. The whole experience was amazing from the first visit all the way through surgery and aftercare. I don’t know how Dr. Bansal does it. Everyone of his staff was so professional and competent. And you will probably see almost all of them at one point or another during your procedure. Thank you, Dr. Bansal for the incredible job you have done returning my eyesight to beyond my expectations and the incredible experience you and your staff provided throughout the whole process from start to finish. I will be forever grateful. I highly recommend Laservue Eye Center!

I wanted to say that my experience with my Refractive Lens Replacement at LaserVue was comfortable and professional. I appreciated the communication, the facility and efficiency. On my follow up appointments, all was good and professional. I know Dr. Bansal is busy, but I had to ask to see him for a follow up. Sometimes it's comforting to see the 'doctor' on a surgery such as this. In the follow up, I feel I saw nobody washing their hands or the machines when I was in the room. My suggestion is, please wipe down all equipment as the patient is there to see. Some of us are paranoid about cleanliness. Otherwise, an awesome experience....comfortable, professional and I can see.

I am very impressed with the staff and doctors at Laser Vue. All my office visits have been quick and easy with little to no wait. The office staff recognizes me after just one visit. My surgery was very easy and I was quite comfortable. The best part is my vision! I have no need for glasses at all. I would and have recommended Laser Vue to my friends.
