Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Cataract SurgeryThe clouded natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with a clear artificial one. It is one of the most common outpatient procedures performed in the country, usually takes under 30 minutes per eye, and is done under light sedation with numbing drops rather than general anesthesia.LASIK / Refractive SurgeryA laser reshapes the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, reducing dependence on glasses or contacts. The procedure itself takes minutes per eye. Vision is often noticeably better within a day, though it can take several weeks to fully stabilize.Glaucoma SurgeryCreates a new drainage path for fluid inside the eye to lower internal pressure. Glaucoma damages the optic nerve silently, so the goal is preventing further vision loss rather than restoring vision already lost. Several minimally invasive options are now performed in outpatient settings.Retinal SurgeryRepairs the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, most often for a detached or torn retina, or for bleeding related to diabetes. Timing matters — a detaching retina is treated urgently because delay increases the risk of permanent vision loss.Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)Removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids. When drooping upper lids block part of the visual field, the procedure is functional rather than cosmetic and is often covered by insurance if visual field testing documents the obstruction.Corneal TransplantReplaces damaged or clouded corneal tissue with donor tissue. Modern techniques often replace only the affected layer rather than the full thickness, which shortens recovery. Vision improves gradually over months, and stitches may stay in place for a year or longer.

Very professional office. I am a retired Optician/Office Manager and this office is top notch. My Husband and I had the pleasure of being examined by Dr. Adam’s O.D. We were both very happy with the whole experience. I recommend this practice.

I've been with Donaldson for 4 years now and they are incredible. They are friendly and efficient. Their office is quite, with plenty of waiting space and a really beautiful fish tank. Dr. Ardron is great, cares for his patients and ensure quick and efficient appointments. I reccomend all my friends who need eye care to Donaldson. I was referred here a few years back by a coworker and I am glad that this is the practice I ended up with. They also have a vision center for glasses shopping right accross the parking lot. Exceptional care.

Very good. All of the staff are nice, and attentive. Very professional, and I have the upmost confidence in the doctors that I spoke with, and treated me. Huge display of glasses and eye where, with very professional fitting. I was recommended to Donaldson by my doctor, and could not be more pleased!

Not impressed. After Dr. Victor Child passed away (so sad), I needed to find a new eye doctor - so I came here… boy what a difference. The difference is: you’re no longer treated like a person… You’re just a number. The only person who was nice to me was the lady at the reception desk. Once I got back in the little room, I had to wait forever and then when they finally came in, they weren’t very nice to me. The employees at the optical center (where they sell the glasses) were very rude. Sadly, I’m gonna have to keep going back because I don’t really have another option right now, oh, and when I had to order contacts, it took months for them to come in… oh how I I miss Dr. Child!!
