Hello, my name is Raja Rihani. I’ve been under Dr. Mona care for the past couple of years I got in a car accident and he did an amazing job. My Pain was like from 0 to 10 it was two and he moved it up and moved it up. Went up to 50-50 then now I’m free of pain thank you doctor you did an amazing job and I would recommend anybody to go see him his professional he does everything by the book and again doctor. I appreciate what you did for me. You brought me back from not doing much into doing back everything the same.
Although it was a 2 1/2 hour drive to this center, I was impressed. The center was clean. I was able to check in quickly and the gal upfront was knowledgeable of the computer system, as I knew I owed some upfront $$, and she was able to find that. Richard took me to the back, and was certainly very friendly. While doing all the pre-op forms, we talked genially. He seemed to be very happy with his work, which makes my entrance to the operation even better. Thank you, Richard. (yes, golfer lady) I was wheeled to the OR. The nurses included Erica, Pam and Julia. Besides being organized, HAPPY, and smart, they were KIND! I cannot express what that means to me. Even though I had a local anesthetic, the process was still ouchy, and the gals must have known, as they were touching my hands, and saying I'm right here if you need anything. This meant the world to me. (I can guess that many people would object, but it was something I could clue into.) All done in less than 5 minutes - I guess. I was taken back to the exit room, and (sorry I didn't catch your name) but the gal who finished up with me was also super friendly. Removed all of the surgery paraphernalia, put me though my paces on things to watch out for post surgery, called my ride, and walked me to the car. Although I didn't really want to be at the Surgery Center, these people certainly made it an easy visit. I was called the next day to check on me. Alls well.
The staff is friendly and professional- they explained everything clearly and made what could have been a stressful situation much easier. This was my first time (no offense but hopefully the last) and I was impressed.
While the nurses were wonderful, having to deal with the billing fiasco for more than 6 months does not make up for it. I was originally charged almost $900 for my portion but it turns out I'm due most of it back. They won't refund me until the claim is settled. THEIR billing department disagrees with the doctor and won't bill what was preapproved. Since it was denied, and they are fighting internally, I sit and am out almost $800. I had the same surgery 2 times (each shoulder) and they billed it wrong both times. I will never have another procedure at this surgery center. If you have any other choice, don't go here.
The Gateway Surgery Center in Valencia has to be the worst. My husband was scheduled for surgery at 11:00 this morning. We were told to arrive at 10. We got here at 9:45. I went in to the office to get a wheelchair for him. The receptionist jumped up from her desk and curtly told me to wait in the car and she would bring the paperwork out. At no time were we advised that neither of us could wait inside before, during, and after the surgery. We had to fill out paperwork in the car. She said “you were scheduled to be here at 10:30.” I told her that we were told 10:00. They finally got my husband out of the car at 10:30. They told me to be back at 12:30. I came back at the assigned time and finally called the office at 1:15. I was told they were running late. It would have been nice if someone would have taken the time to update me. By this time the outside temperature was above 100 degrees. The dr called at 1:30 to say the surgery had gone well but it was another hour before my husband was brought out. I have been his full time caretaker for the past three years while he has had difficulty walking. I felt that I was treated in a very rude and disrespectful manner. I would never agree to another procedure at Gateway for any member of my family.
