The other reviews are a bit harsh. Is this a state of the art facility? Surely not. But it's clean and the staff cares. My previous surgery was at Thousand Oak Surgical Hospital, and that was an incredible place. Almost like a club, huge, beautiful. This is not that. It is a utilitarian space, definitely screams hospital. There's barely a waiting room in this suite. It feels dated. But the staff were all very nice. My surgeon was a bit behind, but that happens - she's a great doctor and that means time is being taken to ensure proper care. The nurses were great, recovery was friendly. It's not the most comfortable place in the world but you're in good hands.
Sarah at this office is the problem and she needs to be gone. Not just gone but never in medical field AGAIN. She broke my hip worse than it was, she made my back worse than was. I could go on....
I will be generous, as the hand surgeon in Burbank seems pretty good. However he had no time, and I was told to see his colleague in the Van Nuys SCOI. I did not realize that they are only a surgical center. If you need surgery, you MUST have someone check in with you, and be there when they discharge you. I was told hand surgery to correct the broken bone, would correct the twisting of my 5 digit, but it did not. No one spoke to me after surgery, so I don't know what in fact they did. Have to get the surgical report and find out myself. Really, it is like a cookie factory. You will be on a conveyor belt, then be dropped into a cookie bag and sent on your way, as soon as you wake up. Don't expect a caring professional to discuss what was done, as they push you out like a restaurant wanting to turn a table for more customers.
The doctors here are phenomenal. However, whoever runs this place should be fired. Everytime I come for an appointment, the doctor is running 1hr-2.5 hrs behind. The a scheduling dept has no idea what they’re doing. It’s ridiculous to be spending 3 hrs in a facility for a 20 min visit.
If I could rate under 1 star I would - I was told to be at a this surgery center 1.5 hours before surgery- - why ? For paperwork , that take 5 minutes??! Surgery times mean nothing here. My surgery was scheduled at 1:30 and I was taken to surgery room at 3:10 - finally leaving at 4:50 Expect to be there all day. My surgery was a 20 minute procedure, of which I was there for almost 5 hours . Whoever is scheduling for these doctors needs to fired. Doctor and nursing staff are great - but scheduler needs to go . This is not my first experience with this place - and seems only to be getting worse .
