Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Hernia RepairTissue pushing through a weak spot in the abdominal wall is returned to place and the defect reinforced, usually with mesh. Hernias do not resolve on their own and gradually enlarge, so repair is typically recommended once symptoms appear.Gallbladder Removal (Cholecystectomy)The gallbladder is removed through several small incisions, most often because gallstones are causing pain after meals. Digestion continues normally without it, though some people find fatty foods harder to tolerate for a period afterward.AppendectomyThe inflamed appendix is removed, usually laparoscopically and usually urgently, since a ruptured appendix is considerably more dangerous than an intact one. Recovery from an uncomplicated case is typically a week or two.HemorrhoidectomySurgical removal of severe hemorrhoids that have not responded to banding or other office treatments. It is the most effective option and also the most uncomfortable β€” expect a recovery of a couple of weeks.Skin Lesion RemovalA concerning or bothersome growth is cut away, usually under local anesthesia, and typically sent for pathology to confirm whether it is benign. The visit is short and most people return to normal activity the same day.Laparoscopic ProceduresSurgery performed through several small incisions using a camera and long instruments rather than one large opening. Compared with open surgery this generally means less pain, smaller scars, and a faster return to normal activity.

I don't need to go under anesthesia! My doctor is so good!!! Tells me everything thing he's doing and how it's going to feel! It's great! I've had two Epidural Steroid Injections over 6 months. I'm looking forward to my 3rd one in 2 weeks! Makes such a difference in my quality of life!! Such a relief!!!!!

Dr. Sandell and his team at the Ascent Surgery Center are simply the best. Everyone from the receptionist to Dr Sandell are very professional and kind and very good at their job. They never fail to make you feel comfortable and confident in their top notch medical care. I have no hesitation in recommending the people at the Ascent Center to everyone.

The staff is outstanding making sure they documented all medical needs and checked my blood pressure and oxygen levels. Dr. Shocked was also great. He quickly gave me my sactic injections. Left with a pain level of 1. He is a great listener and is going to assist me with a another injection in my upper neck in a few weeks.

Dr Finn is absolutely amazing! He truly cares and has compassion for his patients, as does every single member of staff, at the surgery center, and the office. You will not receive better care anywhere. The surgical staff are so kind, they go above n beyond . I've had multiple surgeries and procedures in my lifetime, I've never felt in better hands, or received the quality of care this team provides! They work together so well, I'm very impressed

Very rude front staff. My daughter comes for pain management here often. She has always gone back with her mother for her IV prior to her procedures. Today, the nurse that brought her back was extremely rude to me (dad) when o tried to go back with her. I don’t deserve a snarky remark as to why a caring and concerned family member wants to come back with his daughter. Very disappointed in the care from staff today .
