I was clearly told the total cost of the procedure and paid the full amount upfront before surgery. Months later, I started receiving additional bills asking for more payment. This is completely unacceptable. Patients should not be quoted one total price, pay it in full, and then be billed again afterward. It feels misleading and unprofessional. I would advise others to think carefully before trusting any cost estimate provided by this facility.
I recently had a colonoscopy at Rose Surgical Center and I couldn't be happier. 5 stars go out to Dr. Schatz, Andrea the Anesthesiologist and the group of Rose nurses, Hannah, Emmy, Sarah, etc. Everyone was personable and professional which in my book is the perfect mix.
This morning I had a surgical procedure, everyone from check-in, nurses, doctors, anesthesiologist/ the whole staff, were incredibly supportive and caring during my time with them. They took their time and made sure I had everything I needed and I was really well taken care of. Thank you to my care team.
I had a procedure in the beginning of March that was pre-approved by my insurance and I was told an amount I would pay, but then I had to reschedule the surgery. I reached out to ask them to run my bill through insurance again when rescheduling, since I had reached my out-of-pocket maximum, and the woman on the phone assured me I would not have a copay coming in. Sure enough, I get there and they charge me the original amount. I asked if they checked with my insurance, and they lied and said they called on 3/24, but my insurance provider has no record of them ever even attempting to check in again. When I called my insurance they were baffled that they had me pay out of pocket ($2330) for something that was entirely covered, and my insurance guy spoke with Rose Surgical Center's billing department directly to try to resolve this.. and they are still refusing to refund me until they get the check from insurance. I understand needing to make sure services are paid for, but when a patient has to bear the administrative burden because your billing department doesn't know how to do it's job-- that is not okay. I have been paying interest on this procedure because you guys would rather the burden be on the patient, even when I have an approved insurance claim. I know I will get paid eventually, but I have absolutely zero faith that will happen without me continuing to hound you guys for my money back. All of the healthcare workers were incredible during my procedure, its a shame that is overshadowed by unethical business practice and an incredibly rude billing department. And in this climate? You'd think patients would come first at a surgical center, but money does. I have never dealt with any healthcare facility that puts this much on patients to get their money back, and I genuinely do not feel confident that I will. I cannot recommend anyone go here, and I will be changing providers because of it.
I have been treated here (and at their downstairs sister clinic, the Rose Imaging Center) a number of times over the last dozen years. Okay, maybe the last TWO dozen! My point is that I have received very high-quality care every time in all that time. So has my wife when she has been there, and so have a number of my friends. We all agree that the nursing staff is the best. They are friendly but professional, easy-going but careful, good-humored but observant. The nurses are dedicated and smart. Oh, and the doctors aren’t too shabby, either!
