Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through — a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

I was charged a $1,987 "facility fee" for getting a 15-minute procedure at this place. They did not send any claims to my insurance company to get pre authorization under my insurance for this fee as required by law, despite me providing updated insurance weeks prior. If the insurance company now does not find it medically necessary, I will have paid all of that out of pocket. I was also not told I could pay via a payment plan at the time of check-in, when I was out of my mind from pre-procedure preparation and barely aware of my surroundings. The woman at the front desk claimed they never received my new insurance information when I have a voicemail from the center saying they did. As such, they conned me into paying nearly $2k up front, without prior insurance authorization necessary to be sure this would be applied to my deductible, and without going over any payment plan options as they had previously told me were available. This place is a SCAM. I have disputed the charges and will be initiating a lawsuit unless they 1) re-bill me and provide a payment plan and 2) my insurance determines it is covered. Otherwise, as an attorney I will be bringing a lawsuit for fraudulent and tortious conduct. Oh, and Ridgeview - don't send me some generic BS message to contact you to sort things out - I have already contacted you and you know full well how to get in touch with me.

I had quite a uniquely positive experience given the personnel that managed my procedure. My deepest gratitude to Dr. Schneider (Dr.) Dawn (anesthesiologist), Randi (check in), Sara (RN) and Jill (RN) - who were all so kind and absolutely competent. The process from beginning to end was impeccable and the professionalism second to none. Exemplary customer service…Thank you all so much.

I’ve had two procedures at this facility in the past three months and will not return. The check-in staff are extremely rude and unknowable and misinformed regarding legal billing practices. This facility refused to provide an advanced cost estimate for both procedures, and informed me that, by law they are not required to do so. What I thought was a preventative procedure with zero cost, ended up costing $2,000 out of pocket. The associated physicians are great, however this facility office staff lacks professionalism. This facility prioritizes patient volume over patient satisfaction.

If you’re looking for the highest level of skill and quality of care (equal to what one would experience at Mayo Clinic headquarters in Rochester, MN), then don’t hesitate to schedule your procedure with Ridge View Endoscopy Center/Dr. Lawrence Kim and Staff (Randi/Front Desk; Lynn/Preop Nurse; Yuko and Jen/RN’s; Brit/Procedure Nurse & Tech; and Caroline/PCT). I found Dr. Lawrence Kim and Staff’s genuine care, coupled with impeccable processes (pre, during and post procedure), to be significantly better than what I experienced at UCHealth Hospital Highlands Ranch for the same procedure (colonoscopy) when I was under different insurance coverage. To this entire team, thank you for dedicating your lives to helping, serving and saving lives in the most professional and caring way possible, they don’t come any better.
