Christina, Amanda, and Tracy were absolutely amazing in Preop! Melissa in post was awesome too. I was so impressed with their professionalism and attentiveness to my comfort. I highly recommend Skyridge Surgical Center!
From making the appointment until discharge, everything went smoothly, and rescheduling was even handled by email. Dr. Gibson is a trustworthy and skilled doctor who is also humble and caring. The nurses assured us that my child had a good doctor before the procedure. Dr. Gibson and his team were amazing; we especially thank Tess for taking such good care of my daughter.
I had a procedure done yesterday. A Oblation Nerve Block requires steps of ainful injections, that I don’t recommend without anesthesia.. It was excruciating and painful to the point of intolerable.. but I had a Pre Op nurse, named Christina, she saw how the pain transferred to my feet. She began messaging.. it was very helpful.. she is a special force to watch in the medical field.. The other R.N. ‘ Mark’ he was delightful.. and put me at ease.. I won’t go through that again, but my neck and cervical are 50% better!
As a gay transgender man, my healthcare experiences are usually subpar at best and dangerously discriminatory at worst. My time here this week was a very rare and very welcome exception! I deeply appreciated the ability to fill out my detailed health history and medication lists on the online portal weeks in advance so that there was minimal confusion and no unnecessary questions on the day of my procedure. It seemed like the staff actually took the time to read and understand the health history I provided (for example, the fact that I’ve had a hysterectomy and don’t need a pregnancy test). I did not have to beg for basic understanding, educate the providers about my body, or repeat myself at all, which is unfortunately most often the norm for me. With the majority of my past healthcare experiences, I have shown up for a procedure and it’s painfully obvious that nobody has truly read my chart or any of the very detailed info I provide in advance to try to save everyone time, money, and awkwardness. But absolutely everyone here - from front desk to OR team to post-op nurses - seemed to truly understand who I was. I was treated with complete dignity and referred to in the ways I had specified and requested, as was my husband who accompanied me. When you’re waking up from anesthesia vulnerable and afraid, it really makes a world of difference to have the folks caring for you refer to you correctly and with compassion. I know this should be the minimum bar for good healthcare, but it’s actually quite rare for folks like me to have an experience go this smoothly and to be offered so much genuine kindness. I’m truly grateful for the way I was treated here and would not hesitate to recommend this facility to fellow LGBTQ+ folks.👏
Having been recently admitted to the ICU for a stroke and having had several hospital experiences in my life I can honestly say this one was exceptional. Nurses, Nicole, Devin and Benjamin (I'm sure there were others but can't remember their names) were outstanding in their care and concern. I am convinced that Dr. Kaminski save my life and I will be forever grateful. A great big THANK YOU to all the staff who worked in concert to make sure I was well taken care of. ICU Nursing Director, Lisa, spent time with me to make sure everything was good and I really appreciated the time and attention from everyone. I feel very fortunate that this is the hospital that the EMTs took me to. I had a positive outcome and am so grateful that I was taken by ambulance to this facility.
