Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

HysteroscopyA slim camera passed through the cervix examines the inside of the uterus, and can remove polyps or fibroids in the same visit. No abdominal incision is involved. Cramping for a day or two afterward is normal.LaparoscopyA camera and instruments are inserted through small abdominal incisions, allowing diagnosis and treatment without a large open incision. Used for endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and pelvic pain, with recovery measured in days rather than weeks.D&C (Dilation and Curettage)The cervix is dilated and the uterine lining removed, for heavy bleeding, after a miscarriage, or to obtain tissue for diagnosis. The procedure takes 10 to 15 minutes and most people return to normal activity within a day or two.Tubal LigationThe fallopian tubes are sealed, cut, or removed to provide permanent contraception. It should be considered irreversible — reversal is not reliably successful, so it is intended for people certain they do not want future pregnancy.Endometrial AblationThe uterine lining is destroyed to reduce or stop heavy menstrual bleeding, offering an alternative to hysterectomy. It is not a contraceptive, and it is only appropriate for those who have completed childbearing.Ovarian Cyst RemovalA persistent, enlarging, or painful ovarian cyst is removed, usually laparoscopically. Surgeons generally aim to remove the cyst while preserving the ovary itself, particularly for patients who may want future pregnancy.
Breast Augmentation / ReductionBreast size is increased by placing implants, or decreased by removing breast tissue and skin and repositioning the remaining tissue. Reduction is often performed to relieve back, neck, and shoulder pain caused by breast weight.RhinoplastySurgery that reshapes the nose by altering the bone and cartilage beneath the skin. It is performed to change appearance, to correct breathing problems caused by internal structure, or both. Swelling takes months to fully resolve.FaceliftLiposuctionFat is suctioned out from beneath the skin through small tubes called cannulas, reshaping a specific area such as the abdomen, flanks, or thighs. It targets localized deposits and is a contouring procedure rather than a method of weight loss.Wound ReconstructionRebuilds skin and underlying tissue where a wound is too large or too damaged to close directly. Surgeons move nearby tissue, or transfer skin and muscle from elsewhere on the body, to cover the defect. Often follows trauma, infection, or cancer removal.Skin GraftingHealthy skin is taken from one area of the body and transplanted to cover a wound or burn elsewhere. Both the graft site and the donor site need care, and the donor site is often the more uncomfortable of the two.

I had the absolute best experience at Mile Stone.surgery center. I had face and neck lift this past week and I was blown away by their staff!! Dee Dee was so warm , funny and friendly that made me feel at ease. The nurses were great, and the anesthesiologist was exceptional! The facility is clean and you feel at home. The Milestone Surgery is a wonderful experience. The Center has lots of close parking, no congested waiting areas and very friendly and informative staff. As a senior this is so important to me. The nurses take you to pre-op on arrival, the anesthesiologist visits and explains the process, and Dr.A comes in and makes sure you are comfortable and know what to expect..You are taken to the Surgery suite which is very clean, moved to the surgery table and you drift off. Upon awakening you are in post surgery area and the nurses monitor your comfort and help you get ready to go home..again there are no crowded areas to navigate just a few feet to patient pick up and help as needed ..It was an extremely good experience for both surgeries I had at Milestone.

This surgery center is located right across the hall from Dr. Aguirre's office. This made it very convenient to come to the same location for all my care. The staff was attentive, and the care was exemplary. It was nice to have my procedure done in a more private setting.

Dear Dr. Aguirre, I am very grateful that you opened Milestone Surgery Center. From the radiant foyer that leads to reception and clinic or to reception and surgery suites. Your facility is beautiful with high ceilings, perfect placement of windows giving both reception areas a light airy atmosphere. I think your decor is very tasteful and the architectural design is so calming. My first surgery with you was in 2008 and the outcome was excellent. Thank you Dr. Aguirre for your professional expertise. With that surgery, it required a hospital stay. A Hospital check in can be really slow and you.spend a lot of time waiting. I appreciated the ease of walking in at my appointment time and Nancy, your administrator taking care of everything. She was so organized and very nice to me. Your partnering with Chris Eddy of Medtronic was exceptional and the Interstim System with the Neuromodulation Therapy has been working very well for me. My recent surgery at Milestone Surgery Center on 4/11/22 went so smoothly, I have to give my blessings to Dr. Aguirre. He is an exceptional Physician that really understands our female problems. I was very impressed and happy with the care I received before & after surgery. The I.V. Sedation was wonderful being I didn’t have any pain or reaction. Your recovery area was so spacious, but private, and I received attentive care from your nurses throughout my procedure. I highly recommend Dr. Aguirre and his staff. Sincerely, Ardella House
