Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through — a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

very unprofessional, i was told i was getting tested for cancer because i had a procedure scheduled and i already have bad anxiety as is. i canceled my procedure and was told im gonna get charged $150 and i have state insurance. this is absolutely ridiculous. i hope this reaches someone’s attention sooner than later. will be going elsewhere.

I'm not quite sure what the other people are saying but hands-down the best.. Professional and courteous have not had a problem. The staff here is great. Dr.Rasool is very professional and understood my issue while those at the ER had no idea of my condition. I want to thank Dr. Rasool for everything she’s done. For taking the extra mile to explain everything to me!

I had nothing short of a great experience here. Everyone was so kind, and very accommodating. One of the nurses was so sweet, I wish I remembered her name, but she very clearly loves her job and her patients. Couldn't get a vein, called in an expert, and he was nothing short of extremely talented. Another nurse, Joe, whom I know from the clinic, is also great at his job. The doctor was very detailed in his explanation of everything. Like literally everything was so organized and easy. While I hope i never have to get these procedures done again, I would not be upset to see all these lovely humans again. Keep doing amazing work. You're all great.

On the recommendation from my doctor I go for a colonoscopy every five years. My most recent visit was the same as the other two visits. Excellent care along with a very polite and professional staff of doctors, nurses and clerical. For those in the waiting room coffee or tea is available free of charge. The prep wasn't bad in my opinion. Trick is to refrigerate before consuming. Goes down better cold. And don't sip, gulp if possible. Dr. Ricci is my physician. He's awesome!
