Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Knee ArthroscopyA camera and small instruments are inserted through incisions the size of a buttonhole to repair cartilage, trim a torn meniscus, or remove loose fragments. Because the joint is not opened fully, recovery is far faster than traditional open knee surgery.Shoulder ArthroscopyUses a small camera and instruments through tiny incisions to repair the shoulder joint — commonly for impingement, labral tears, or damaged cartilage. Most patients go home the same day and begin physical therapy within the first week.ACL ReconstructionRebuilds the torn anterior cruciate ligament using a graft, since a fully torn ACL does not heal on its own. The surgery itself is outpatient, but returning to cutting and pivoting sports typically takes nine to twelve months of structured rehabilitation.Rotator Cuff RepairReattaches torn tendons in the shoulder to the bone. Pain relief often comes well before strength does — a sling is typical for several weeks and full recovery commonly takes four to six months, with physical therapy doing much of the work.Carpal Tunnel ReleaseCuts the ligament pressing on the median nerve at the wrist to relieve numbness, tingling, and night pain in the hand. The procedure takes about 15 minutes under local anesthesia. Night symptoms often improve immediately; grip strength returns over several weeks.Joint ReplacementDamaged joint surfaces are replaced with implants, most commonly at the knee or hip. Once exclusively a hospital procedure, selected healthy patients now have this done at surgery centers and go home the same day with a structured recovery plan.
Epidural Steroid InjectionsSteroid medication is injected near irritated spinal nerve roots to calm inflammation causing sciatica or arm pain. Often used to make physical therapy tolerable rather than as a standalone cure. There are limits on how frequently they can be repeated.Nerve Block InjectionsAnesthetic, sometimes with steroid, is injected around a specific nerve to interrupt pain signals. Used both to treat pain and to identify its source, since relief from a precisely placed block points to the nerve responsible.Radiofrequency AblationHeat generated by radio waves disables the small nerves carrying pain signals from an arthritic spinal joint. Relief commonly lasts six months to two years. Because the nerves regenerate over time, the procedure can be repeated.Spinal Cord StimulationA device delivers mild electrical pulses to the spinal cord to interrupt chronic pain signals before they reach the brain. A temporary trial period is done first, so you can judge the benefit before committing to a permanent implant.Joint InjectionsSteroid or lubricating medication is injected directly into an arthritic or inflamed joint. Image guidance is often used to confirm placement. Relief typically lasts weeks to months and can make physical therapy more productive.Trigger Point InjectionsA local anesthetic is injected into a taut, tender knot of muscle to break the spasm-and-pain cycle. The appointment takes minutes and you can usually return to normal activity the same day.

This is my first ever surgery and I had an exceptional experience at the Orthopaedic Specialists Surgi-Center. Dr. Eskander was the first doctor I felt listened to me and helped come up with a course of action and carried it out. The scheduling team was great, they communicated with me and I truly appreciated that. From the time I stepped into the surgery center, everyone was welcoming and helped me feel at ease. Thank you to Kristina and Kate during my Pre-Op, checking in on me and making me feel comfortable. Also thank you to Alexis, Laura and Kathy during my procedure and after. A great place and team all around!

Orthopedic Specialists Surgery center has a very clean facility with friendly doctors and nurses. My care team consisted of Andrea, Katie-Prep, Kathy, Luke-OR, Katie-PACU and Dr.Reynolds. Things were explained to me where I understood the procedure, my questions was answered fully, they made sure I was comfortable and they did their role/job well. Dr. Reynolds always greets you with a smile and talks to you like he has known you for a forever: conversations about your health does not feel awkward or forced. I would recommend Orthopedic Specialist any day.

Dr. Patterson did an exceptional job with my cubital tunnel release. He explained everything clearly from start to finish, which kept me calm, confident, and fully informed throughout the entire process. Nurses Jessica and Andrea were so welcoming during pre-op, fun to chat with and great at easing any nerves. Nurses Kathy G. and Alexis made sure I was completely safe and comfortable before heading into surgery. And PACU Nurse Laura absolutely knocked it out of the park getting me smoothly recovered and on my way out. Every single one of these amazing individuals made the whole experience not just comfortable, but honestly surprisingly fun. I couldn’t have asked for a better team.
