Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Cataract SurgeryThe clouded natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with a clear artificial one. It is one of the most common outpatient procedures performed in the country, usually takes under 30 minutes per eye, and is done under light sedation with numbing drops rather than general anesthesia.LASIK / Refractive SurgeryA laser reshapes the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, reducing dependence on glasses or contacts. The procedure itself takes minutes per eye. Vision is often noticeably better within a day, though it can take several weeks to fully stabilize.Glaucoma SurgeryCreates a new drainage path for fluid inside the eye to lower internal pressure. Glaucoma damages the optic nerve silently, so the goal is preventing further vision loss rather than restoring vision already lost. Several minimally invasive options are now performed in outpatient settings.Retinal SurgeryRepairs the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, most often for a detached or torn retina, or for bleeding related to diabetes. Timing matters — a detaching retina is treated urgently because delay increases the risk of permanent vision loss.Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)Removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids. When drooping upper lids block part of the visual field, the procedure is functional rather than cosmetic and is often covered by insurance if visual field testing documents the obstruction.Corneal TransplantReplaces damaged or clouded corneal tissue with donor tissue. Modern techniques often replace only the affected layer rather than the full thickness, which shortens recovery. Vision improves gradually over months, and stitches may stay in place for a year or longer.

1 star because I was told to be at the surgery center at 8:30am and by 10:30am I am still sitting here with zero information about what is going on. Even the nurse manager could not provide me any info. Instead she threw out a jab about let them know if I want to reschedule! Reschedule? Why, to sit around again? I find it completely unacceptable to be a patient waiting for surgery and not be provided updates when the delay is 2 hours.

This office is extremely slow. My surgery was back in 2022. Within 2 months I received so many various bills and just paid them. This is after so much confusion because they started using a third party billing company that didn’t even have a number or website to pay. You get an invoice without any contact info, just a receipt that you mail a check. Who has checks these days. It’s now 2023, 1 1/2 years later and I received another bill. Unreal.

This place is HORRIBLE. We’ve been here since 9:30am, and my mom was brought in for some drops. 2 hours later we’re still waiting for them to bring her in. My mother goes to the front desk and asks if they know when she will be called in. The lady says “we don’t know, we don’t have a schedule” - in a very rude tone. This is ridiculous. The staff here needs to go. Nobody has come out with a friendly smile to give an update or excuse the delay. Unbelievable. We own a primary care center - and will NEVER refer anybody here.
