Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Cataract SurgeryThe clouded natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with a clear artificial one. It is one of the most common outpatient procedures performed in the country, usually takes under 30 minutes per eye, and is done under light sedation with numbing drops rather than general anesthesia.LASIK / Refractive SurgeryA laser reshapes the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, reducing dependence on glasses or contacts. The procedure itself takes minutes per eye. Vision is often noticeably better within a day, though it can take several weeks to fully stabilize.Glaucoma SurgeryCreates a new drainage path for fluid inside the eye to lower internal pressure. Glaucoma damages the optic nerve silently, so the goal is preventing further vision loss rather than restoring vision already lost. Several minimally invasive options are now performed in outpatient settings.Retinal SurgeryRepairs the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, most often for a detached or torn retina, or for bleeding related to diabetes. Timing matters — a detaching retina is treated urgently because delay increases the risk of permanent vision loss.Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)Removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids. When drooping upper lids block part of the visual field, the procedure is functional rather than cosmetic and is often covered by insurance if visual field testing documents the obstruction.Corneal TransplantReplaces damaged or clouded corneal tissue with donor tissue. Modern techniques often replace only the affected layer rather than the full thickness, which shortens recovery. Vision improves gradually over months, and stitches may stay in place for a year or longer.

Waited 3 months to get an appointment with this office. Manager verified my insurance acceptance and we drove 30 minutes just to be told they do not accept our insurance. Yet they can take me if I want to pay direct. They have our insurance on file and still never said a thing prior to my appointment. Couldn’t find a parking spot anywhere. Would not recommend this place. check reviews not so great.

I have an extensive eye history and have been to the best of the best or so I thought...Walking into see Dr Mark Gorovoy was an honor and a privilege and I will be forever grateful. Even though we didn't see eye to eye about the use of antiviral treatment, I still possess the utmost respect for him. He is a Rock Star and his staff is his solid support. You all were Amazing!!! What a pleasure.🤓

I don't care about other reviews stating how long you have to wait or how many patients they have. Good, Qualified, Educated, Professional Doctors are very hard to find. I am a Landscaper and was poked in my left eye with a Pygmy Date Palm thorn, it went through my contact lens and into my eye. I ended up with a very bad Fungal infection. Unfortunately I did not start off seeing Dr. Gorovoy, I was at another Doctor who prescribed me a medication for my eye and told me to use it or go blind. For 5 weeks I used this medication, every hour on the hour, it burned like hell every time I had to put that drop in my eye but I did not want to go blind in my left eye. After the 5th week and seeing this other Dr. once a week during that time with my eye only getting worse, I decided I needed a second opinion. I went to Dr. Snead (also a very good eye Doctor) who could get me in ASAP, he looked at my eye and exclaimed I had a huge ulcer in my left eye and I needed it treated immediately or I would go blind, but he told me he was not the man for the job and referred me to Dr. Gorovoy. I went in and was seen right away by a professional staff member who did several things during a pre exam and then sent me to the other waiting room other people complain about in other reviews. I only sat there for maybe 10 minutes when another staff member took my back to see Dr. Gorovoy. He examined me and also told me my eye was in terrible condition and within 2 weeks if I kept on the path I was on, I would be blind. He was very aggressive in the treatment he put me on and had me on the PROPER medication and within 2 days I knew my eye was feeling better and within 2 weeks my eye was just about healed. There is no doubt in my mind Dr. Gorovoy saved my vision in my left eye. Without him I would be blind in that eye no doubt. Under another Dr. I was going blind, 5 weeks I was with this other Dr. and he only made it worse, 1 visit with Dr. Gorovoy and I was healing. Worst 5 weeks of my life, pain, watering eye, no sleep and a constant swelling of my eye. Thank you to Dr. Gorovoy and all of your staff for saving my vision!!! You are the Best!!!

I have never written any type of review before, but I feel an obligation to share my experiences with Dr. Gorovoy . He performs miracles....for ALL his patients, but especially for those of us with the cornea condition known as Fuchs' Dystrophy. I have flown thousands of miles, spent nights in hotels, rented vehicles and more to be able to have Dr. Gorovoy examine my eyes. He is an extremely skilled, experienced and knowledgeable surgeon with an exceptional record of excellent care for his patients. He is obviously a very busy doctor and sometimes one must wait to see him. Every mile I flew, every dollar I spent, every minute I waited was absolutely worth the care I received from Dr. Gorovoy. I had been concerned after I read some of the reviews on Google complaining about having to wait. All I can say is that the results you will get are more than worth any less important issues. He is amazing and I am so very grateful for my greatly improved vision......It is life changing.

Very poor customer service. Be prepared to wait to the point you think you have been forgotten and feel like you need to ask at the desk. They now have a sign the staff just points too letting you know that even though you have been waiting for an hour and 15 mins, you may have up to 3 hours. All this for a follow up? If you are looking for a Doctor go elsewhere. I am looking for a new eye doctor that cares about the patients time.
