Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Tonsillectomy / AdenoidectomyThe tonsils and sometimes the adenoids are removed for repeated infections or sleep-disordered breathing. Recovery is notably harder for adults than children, with significant throat pain for a week or more and a real emphasis on staying hydrated.Ear Tube PlacementTiny tubes are placed through the eardrum to drain fluid and ventilate the middle ear, most often for children with recurrent ear infections. The procedure takes about 10 minutes and the tubes usually fall out on their own within a year.Sinus Surgery (FESS)A camera and instruments passed through the nostrils open blocked sinus drainage pathways, with no external incisions. Considered for chronic sinusitis that has not improved with medication. Congestion often worsens briefly before it improves.SeptoplastyThe wall of cartilage and bone between the nostrils is straightened to improve airflow through a blocked side. It addresses breathing rather than external appearance, though it is sometimes combined with cosmetic reshaping.Turbinate ReductionSwollen tissue inside the nose is shrunk to improve airflow, frequently at the same time as septoplasty. Often the difference between a nose that is structurally straight and one that actually feels open.LaryngoscopyA scope examines the voice box and vocal cords, used for persistent hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, or throat pain that has not resolved. Small lesions can sometimes be biopsied or removed during the same procedure.

Showed up with my dad for his 8:15 am, which we scheduled months ago so I could arrange for time off, went through the check in , to then find out the doctor canceled the appointment. No reason given whatsoever!! But, if we cancel with less than 72 hours they charge $150!! And the attitude on the receptionist put the cherry on top. Unbelievable!!

I had a colonoscopy & endoscopy with Dr Ross. I can't say enough good things about Dr Ross and the entire staff. Everyone was very professional and personable. Thank you Dr Ross and the entire staff for making the procedure as pleasant as possible.

I have been a client since age 50, I am now 71. With a solid family history of colon cancer and history if polyps I was on the 5 year treatment schedule. This is an excellent medical specialist group. Everyone is professional, courteous and polite in their communication skills. They track you and notify you when you are due for a screening. You are treated like a valued client, not another assembly line chore. I am certain that at times I can present as an annoying, "Let's get this one under anesthesia (asap) haha," patient. I highly recommend being monitored and treated by these folks if you want the best available in this highly competitive medical University town. I do my home work and always shop around before selecting who I will place my trust in for life threatening medical needs and I have had no cause to doubt my judgement throughout the past 21 years. Those people who know me professionally or otherwise know I pull no punches and tell it like it is, Sincerely, Victor Buehler, retired after 22 years SHSWS at NFETC, State of FL, dept HRS, Child Abuse Investigator Supervisor, State of Alaska delinquent Eskimo treatment facility Supervisor, Nome Youth Facility, certified red cross lifeguard for 56 years in NYS, MA, AK and Florida, two time New England college and University regional all-star 1975 and 1976, hot sauce manufacturer, pigfarmer and AKC registered standard and miniature Bull Terrier breeder. MOTTO: There is no such thing as wasted time.

My first experience here was far better than my last experience years ago at a Jacksonville based gastroenterology clinic. The prep procedure instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The NFEC nurses I had and the nurse anesthetist were so efficient, professional, and sweet. The whole process was so streamlined. I did not see much of the doctor but our communications before anesthesia were very upbeat and on the spot concerning my symptoms. I highly recommend this clinic.

The charges here are astronomical. I went in for a simple procedure and the cost was absurd. The reason it was absurd is that you are getting charged for just the room when you get their bill. During checkout (before the procedure) I had to pay. But, come to find out, I was only paying for the 'room', not any of the actual procedural stuff. And the 'room charge' came out to more than three grand. Makes me want to live with my problems instead of getting them fixed.
