Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Cataract SurgeryThe clouded natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with a clear artificial one. It is one of the most common outpatient procedures performed in the country, usually takes under 30 minutes per eye, and is done under light sedation with numbing drops rather than general anesthesia.LASIK / Refractive SurgeryA laser reshapes the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, reducing dependence on glasses or contacts. The procedure itself takes minutes per eye. Vision is often noticeably better within a day, though it can take several weeks to fully stabilize.Glaucoma SurgeryCreates a new drainage path for fluid inside the eye to lower internal pressure. Glaucoma damages the optic nerve silently, so the goal is preventing further vision loss rather than restoring vision already lost. Several minimally invasive options are now performed in outpatient settings.Retinal SurgeryRepairs the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, most often for a detached or torn retina, or for bleeding related to diabetes. Timing matters — a detaching retina is treated urgently because delay increases the risk of permanent vision loss.Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)Removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids. When drooping upper lids block part of the visual field, the procedure is functional rather than cosmetic and is often covered by insurance if visual field testing documents the obstruction.Corneal TransplantReplaces damaged or clouded corneal tissue with donor tissue. Modern techniques often replace only the affected layer rather than the full thickness, which shortens recovery. Vision improves gradually over months, and stitches may stay in place for a year or longer.

Procedure list is based on CMS-reported specialty designations. Contact the facility to confirm specific procedures offered.

I had an excellent experience with Filutowski Eye Institute. I was initially referred to Konrad Filutowski by my optometrist in Celebration, Dr. Margaret Grand. I was/is a patient with Dr. Grand for more than 20 years so I trusted her referral. From the moment I walked in at the first appointment, I knew that the clinic would be very efficient and very competent. I met with Dr. Konrad Filutowski, who after the initial screening, recommended the Light Adjustable Lens procedure instead of the standard monofocal lens (or multifocal lens) for interocular lens for cataract surgery. I had high myopia with astigmatism, and have been wearing glasses/contact lens since the age of nine. There were lots of appointments and lots of care with Drs. Dempsey, Keast, Goswami, and Rojanasthien who helped with screening, and post op care, as well as the LAL adjustments. The techs were also very knowledge and patient. I underwent the first eye procedure in October and followed up with the next one four weeks later at the co-located surgery center in Lake Mary. Four months post-LAL surgery, I don't have to wear glasses or worry about swimming in my contacts, getting sweat in my eyes doing physical recreation. I am very happy with the care and the results!

Dr. Filutowski performed my LASIK, and the next day Amy checked my vision and I was seeing 20/15, before surgery it was 20/600+. The doctor was very calming walking you through the procedure as he was doing it, and Amy was awesome at the follow up answering all my questions and giving some tips and items for follow up care. All of the staff I encountered were great to deal with. Wonderful overall experience.

The FILUTOWSKI Institute is amazing!!! I was blessed to have found this institute in google. Hilary Plaza-Garcia helped me over the phone, and I didn’t realize I was calling right at the end of her shift. Still, she took the time to assist me as if she had all the time in the world. What a sweet and caring person! Ms. Zoey the tech is AMAZING. So patient, kind, professional, and caring. I am so blessed she assisted my parents. Finally Dr. Oliver Filutowski is such a responsible, knowledgeable, kind, and caring physician. I am blessed me and my family are assisted by him. Thank you for bringing health, caring, and kindness to this world 🙏! Much love you all🫶

Filutowski Eye Institute is the best in the business. The counselors, front desk associates, surgeons and eveyone esle that makes up the staff provides stellar customer service. My dad was a patient and now my mom is a patient because of such heartwarming and professional service we experienced. I would like to give a great big shout out and thank you to MJ at the Lake Mary location who went above and beyond to ensure my mom received her eye drops. In addition a great big shout out and thank you goes to Ashley in the Intake Department for accommodating my schedule as a teacher. Last but not least, another great big shout out and thank you goes to my mom's nurse, Nancy and the gentleman Courtney that escorted my mom into surgery and escorted her to the car!

At first I was very nervous. Dealing with cataracts was not easy. It was scary most of the time. Especially driving. Had met two other people that had it done and they did not made it easy for me. The doctors and staff made me feel very at ease. Dr. Siripong Rojanasthien was great from the very beginning. He assured me everything will go well. During surgery he calmly talked to me and gave me a count down as he was working on my eyes. He did both eyes and in both occasions it was a success. I started seeing bright and beautiful colors all around me from the very 1st day. It was amazing!!! MY fear was gone, and I Thank the doctors and all the staff. Including the front staff who were very welcoming to me and my wife. God Bless them all. I can see clearly and with no more fear. Thank you all. Blessings
