Not impressed, no one at desk but a clip board. Called us in early and then proceeded to let us sit for 2 hours and my husband has still not been called. No food or water or explanation.
I had foot surgery at this facility last Friday, and my experience was quite disappointing. I had to wait for over two and a half hours, which was frustrating. They struggled to find my veins, and when I suggested using hand heaters or warm blankets, the nurse went on about how they either didn't have them or were short on supplies. The nurse who cared for me after the surgery was also not helpful. To top it off, the cleanliness of the place was lacking. Overall, I was not impressed at all. Update: The billing department is coming up with new bills to pay. It started with few bills for 300 dollars including one that I am disputing. On the day of the surgery, I was approached by the anesthesiologist letting me know that they had planned a total anesthesia. I tried to get them to stop and get the twilight anesthesia as it is the “usual” procedure for that type of surgery. You do not need to go through total anesthesia. I had talked to my surgeon the day before and he himself confirmed it. I was ignored and put under. As many of you, this type of anesthesia is quite hard on our bodies. I had two major surgeries within the same year and the third one only made the recovery harder. Of course and it comes without any surprise that west bay has sent me a bill for it. I am now responsible for over 3000 dollars. I do not trust this place and will go through my insurance agent prior paying the bills. The fact that only 2 hours prior the surgery, I had to pay them some fee. Infact, as soon as I entered the building, I was told admission would not be accepted until I pay. First time in my life to go to a medical center who asks for money the very same day of surgery. Any way… I will not return there and advice anyone to research more respected and professional centers
I had surgery today, 10/22. It went pretty well I think, hoping for the desired results in a few months, TBD for now but thatll also fall more on the surgeonwhom doesn'twork here. The centers nurse was a cool guy, very calm skilled at Ivs, and I hate ivs. I also liked the anaesthesiologist they contracted. He helped address my needs in terms of needle anxiety quite well, which made the still conscious nerve block injection tolerable. I was pretty anxious and scared going into today and while it was a significant event, I was kept very comfortable the whole way through. My nurse also consoled a sobbing lady next to me, kudos to the staff here imo.
From the moment I entered the West Bay Surgery Center, everyone was very accommodating. Nurse Wendy was so nice, and she made me feel very comfortable. I don't remember everyone's name, but the staff who were involved preparing me for the procedures were excellent. Nurse Eryn in the Recovery Room was so nice also, and she took great care to make sure I have everything I needed. She went over my discharge paperwork with me. Then she walked me out to the car where my husband was waiting to take me home. I thank you all for taking such very good care of me. Excellent Service.
I've had just the best experiences here for my colonoscopies. Staff is always friendly. They seem very efficient but usually are running behind with scheduling so expect a wait. The nurses and staff are great to chat with. Facility is clean and they make you comfy. I recommend and there is a hospital next door.
