Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Cataract SurgeryThe clouded natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with a clear artificial one. It is one of the most common outpatient procedures performed in the country, usually takes under 30 minutes per eye, and is done under light sedation with numbing drops rather than general anesthesia.LASIK / Refractive SurgeryA laser reshapes the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, reducing dependence on glasses or contacts. The procedure itself takes minutes per eye. Vision is often noticeably better within a day, though it can take several weeks to fully stabilize.Glaucoma SurgeryCreates a new drainage path for fluid inside the eye to lower internal pressure. Glaucoma damages the optic nerve silently, so the goal is preventing further vision loss rather than restoring vision already lost. Several minimally invasive options are now performed in outpatient settings.Retinal SurgeryRepairs the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, most often for a detached or torn retina, or for bleeding related to diabetes. Timing matters β€” a detaching retina is treated urgently because delay increases the risk of permanent vision loss.Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)Removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids. When drooping upper lids block part of the visual field, the procedure is functional rather than cosmetic and is often covered by insurance if visual field testing documents the obstruction.Corneal TransplantReplaces damaged or clouded corneal tissue with donor tissue. Modern techniques often replace only the affected layer rather than the full thickness, which shortens recovery. Vision improves gradually over months, and stitches may stay in place for a year or longer.

My wife had both her eyes worked on by this place. The average wait time to be seen is 2 hours. They call to verify your appointment the day before and both times they were 2 hours late. No call or forewarning beforehand! Absolutely terrible practice

Sharing this review on behalf of my husband's cornea transplant surgery. The surgeon was Dr. Darlington and was amazing and he knows his stuff. The facility Atlantic Surgery Ctr...all I can say is, review and watch your detailed billing. They overbilled us and our insurance. The day of surgery, they made us pay a huge up front amount and said it was our remaining deductible. Now after hours of researching and speaking with different people in their billing department, they actually owe us back a lot of money. Just watch your invoices.

I highly recommend Dr Ho for any eye conditions, for 10 years I was slowly losing my vision by the time I got to Dr Ho I was basically blind after going to so many different doctors from Miami to Orlando several times not one was able to help me. My insurance company recommended Dr Ho they even made the appointment without getting my hopes up I went to see Dr Ho between his office staff and surgical staff they were so kind and concerned and helpful to me. When Dr Ho came in and examined my eyes, he said they should have been fixed years ago. He told me that he could not make any promises but he would do his best to restore my vision.I have a tumor down deep in my left orbit leaning up against my optical nerve he said my optical nerve had some damage to it but he would do his best to restore as much vision as he could. At this point I was almost 100% blind scheduled me for surgery on my left eye first after my left eye heal he repaired my right eye. I am so happy and excited that he was true to his word I have almost 20/20 vision in my right eye and some cloudiness to my left eye that we expected but I can drive again and live again. The staff in the office and in the surgical wing are the best they're always happy smiling and so helpful I even asked them what do you guys do take a happy pill before you come to work. Like they said we love our job and it's a great place to work and it shows cuz they are fantastic with the patients. And I cannot say enough about Dr Ho if you have any eye conditions whatsoever he has 30 years experience he gives it his all he makes no false promises.in the end my vision was exactly how he said it would end up and I couldn't be more happier. I have gone to so many doctors trying to get the help to get my vision back they wanted to cut the top of my head off cut the side of my head off. Dr Ho was able to fix my eyes, after 10 years and so many doctors and so many trips and so much money Dr Ho was able to fix my eyes in less than 2 months thank you Dr Ho and your staff you are the best it's been the most pleasant happiest experience I've ever had with any doctors Again thank you so much Dr Ho and I highly recommend him and his staff for any eye problems you have. I don't even need to wear glasses just readers. Thank very very much Dr Ho and your staff God bless you all ☺️
