The experience my family and I had at this facility was extremely disappointing and concerning. Our appointment was scheduled for 10:45 AM, yet we were not seen until approximately 2:00 PM. During this entire time, we were repeatedly told every 30 minutes that the doctor would see us “in about 15 minutes,” which unfortunately was not accurate. My primary concern is how this delay impacted our 2-month-old baby. Infants of this age are on strict feeding schedules, typically every three hours. Due to the prolonged wait, my child went over two additional hours without feeding, becoming increasingly distressed and crying while we waited. Despite expressing our concern multiple times, we felt dismissed rather than supported. What made the situation more upsetting was observing significantly older children who are capable of eating solid food being seen while our infant continued to wait. As parents, it was incredibly distressing to feel as though we were being expected to ignore our child’s basic needs. Throughout this process, my wife, my child, and I felt poorly treated and unheard. A situation involving an infant should be handled with greater urgency, empathy, and communication. Unfortunately, none of that was demonstrated during our visit. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so future families especially those with very young children are treated with the care, respect, and professionalism they deserve.

Honestly at first I was skeptical because I just seen many ppl like on their 20’s that was working there but. I was deceived by the people in registration they were patient amongst each other trying to train a newbie at the front desk which is perfectly understandable. I had seen a couple of negative comments about them asking for social security up front without any notice but they actually email you with everything that you need to know and they actually call you a couple of times to double check all the information is correct and that you have received the email. Dr. Lau treated my pilonidal cyst amongst his fellow coworkers. And the anesthesiologist also helped me understand my process, 10/10 highly recommend… Side note: don’t be scared to ask questions these people are all very knowledgeable and they offer a payment plan without interest rates too.

It’s unfortunate that the registration staff at Nicklaus Children’s Ambulatory Surgery Center prioritized a child’s Social Security Number over providing care. Despite providing my child’s insurance information and parent’s SSN, I was threatened with the possibility of the procedure being canceled simply because I couldn’t recall my child’s SSN. The person handling registration was rude and unhelpful, adding unnecessary stress to an already difficult situation. The only reason I stayed was because of my child’s wonderful doctor. On a positive note, the nurses were kind and took great care of my child before, during, and after the procedure. I hope management addresses these issues so other families don’t have to go through the same experience with the registration staff.

I have been here for 3 of my child’s surgeries. It has changed a little. When you turn into the area there will be a parking lot on left that says patient parking. You can park but it’s time consuming and hard to find. Bring $5 for valet. When you go in go to the light and make a left and then a left and the next light and go straight it will show you the valet area for the Nicklaus center. The valet was super nice and he came in and gave me my keys and had parked it right where they could wheel him from recovery so I didn’t have to go down for the car it was very kind. Check in was easy. We were there about two hours. You register and check in, they call you to back basic questions, surgeon will come in and anesthesiologist, then they will come and take patient to ER. You go back to waiting room and they come out within 30 min and the surgeon talks to you. Then they tell you he is in recovery and you will be called in. They call you in recovery explain everything to you, help with anything you need and then they help take child safely to vehicle. Great experience!
