Hello, It is with great pleasure I write the following. When my primary care physician first referred me to Underwood Surgery Centre to the care of Dr.Andrea Ferrara MD I was a tad nervous and had lots of questions. However from my initial visit that was no longer the situation, as my encounter with him alongside his colleague Dr.Antonio Villamor MD was quite pleasant. Dr.Andrea as he allowed me to call him is a man of Integrity, full of Knowledge, Loads Of Experience, Super Friendly and has a unique way of making you feel relaxed and no longer nervous. Both he and Dr.Villamor goes above and beyond in every aspect as your doctors. You leave there knowing you’ve learned more about your situation than when you first arrive and that says a lot. On the 3rd Of July 2023 when I had my surgery again Dr.Andrea was as he always is, Amazing. The experience with the Team was simply the Best and Thumbs Up To Orlando Health Medical Centre Hospital, Excellent. During my surgery day I encountered yet another amazing fella Dr.Jerrod Robertson MD. This soft spoken with a southern accent man was friendly, with a big smile, knowledgeable and{super transparent as is the case with all three doctors}came by my hospital bed and chatted with me to see if someone was available to help look after me etc and to also explain things and took his time answering any and all questions I had. With this level of service who would not brag about these amazing men who happened to all be my doctors. I have proudly recommended Dr.Andrea, Dr.Villamor and Dr.Robertson MD to couple of friends and two family members all of different ages who are having the same issues I had. So look forward meeting some new patients quite soon. Also Hilda at registration, Nurse Kimberly, Gail and Verge all great ladies who also goes above and beyond in assisting you. Thank You All For This Amazing Experience to help Improve my Health and Way of Life.

If I had not read other reviews prior to going, I might not be giving this place four stars, but since I knew to expect my surgery to run late, I had my expectations low. Indeed, it was an hour before I was even called back to get situated, and then another hour before my actual operation began. My husband was not allowed up with me, so he just dropped me off and left. They called him telling him I’d be done in 30 minutes, but it took an hour for me to actually be ready. The procedure itself (a papilla removal) only took ten minutes, but I was at the facility for 3.5 hours total. Their worst fault here is definitely being inaccurate as far as timing. However, the positives to me outweighed all else. My biggest concern as a patient is am I being treated kindly and with respect, and are the people taking care of me competent, compassionate and trustworthy? To that, I say a resounding yes. Every nurse I interacted with (Amanda and Teresa to name a couple) as well as Dr. Karas were very professional and reassuring. I left with free gauze and a sitz bath which were not provided to me when I got a surgery through AdventHealth. I appreciated that extra touch as both items have been very helpful. They also called to follow up with me afterwards, but when I called with a question Friday at 2pm I never got a call back. I understand it’s almost the weekend, but now I have to get through two more days worrying about my unanswered question! Outside of the poor estimations on timing, this facility and staff were excellent.

UPDATE: the doctor didn’t fill his prescription out correctly so days after his surgery he still doesn’t have his pain medication. They also let him leave his surgery without scheduling a follow up appointment that they said needed to happen five days after his surgery. They said they would call him to schedule it. Here we are five days later and they aren’t answering HIS calls to get this appointment scheduled. My boyfriend was scheduled a surgery here. I was prepared to wait there while surgery occurred. First I was met with aggressive “CDC guideline” signs saying the ride has to wait outside in this tiny sketchy room with only an elevator in it. When he was hospitalized I was allowed to be there and spend the night with him…so I don’t buy this “CDC guideline” nonsense. it was so uncomfortable and felt very cold sending him up there alone. Then when they called me 30 minutes before he was done the first thing the receptionist said to me before I even said anything was “don’t freak out”. Once I arrived I asked a different receptionist why she would say that to me and she sighed and said “it’s a whole thing with that girl”. She called his room to see how much longer it would take so I imagine they knew I was upset. The girl who walked him out of the room didn’t look at me or say anything. You would think she would provide reassurance I had nothing to worry about considering what I was just told on the phone. INCREDIBLY UNPROFESSIONAL ESTABLISHMENT. This place is an embarrassment. Be warned of how they treat patients and their loved ones who are worried sick. and I definitely don’t trust the job they did. We will be getting a referral to go somewhere else in the future.

Dr. When you see him seems to be good. However. There is no after care. No after hours service number to call. So if you have surgery on Thursday you can forget about help until Monday. You're on your own. Have to go to the ER and they will just tell you to follow up with your surgeon. You call on Monday and guess what still no help, with a side of attitude instead. Get in on Tuesday again an attitude. Their office staff needs some serious help, or new staff if they're over helping patients out. So come here if you think you'll survive getting cut open and take care of the rest on your own.

Horrible, unprofessional. Appt at 1pm. Arrived at 12:30 to fill out paperwork. 1pm came and went. 2pm came and went. 3pm came and went. Called nurse, she said this wait is routine. She also said there were three people ahead of me? OK SO WHY HAVE ME COME IN IF YOU ARE THAT BEHIND? I waited until 3:15pm,, asked that they take out my IV and I'd like to leave. They asked that I wait longer,, ok 3:45pm now, they finally get me in. I pay $500 dollars for my surgery and Dr. says he did not find anything when I know there is something wrong. The staff was very nice even though I lost my patience with this place. One particular nurse, shorter, 5'1?, dark or black hair, awesome manners. However, there is NO TV, radio, magazines, ipads, etc..while you wait. I had to listen to all of those nurses ramble on for three hours! You have the luxury of staring at a curtain and clock on the wall and that's it. Helpful hint for this office, get professional. If it's "routine" to keep people waiting hours, at least have something for them to read, watch or listen too.
