Beware! This is a tylenol only surgery center. Staff does not wear names and credential badges. Anesthesiologist (with no credential badge or name tag and spilled food on his scrub shirt), even told me that they pride themselves on "not using opioids and that opioids make you more sensitive to pain in the future." Staff was walking around in preop with food and uncovered drinks (coffe mugs). Waiting room is 50° and told they have had it checked out multiple times and it can't be fixed. I was supposed to be brought back to sit with my husband after his vitals were taken. They never took me back until I asked and then the said, "she got busy." I told the doctor, the nurse, the anesthesiologist, and the doctor's assistant (when she updated me in the waiting room) that I wanted to be brought back to the PACU. I was brought back at the last minute as they were rushing my husband out the door. I asked to put my stuff down so i could sign discharge papers and then another person came by to take it off the bed because it had to be cleaned that second. I aksed the person why I wasnt brought back earlier and was told, "she was too busy and no one told her." This place is too busy to care about patients and family members. I had to stop and park immediately after my husband was pushed into the car because he started bleeding all over the place. If they had spent 10 more minutes with him, (yes, he would have still bled) but aparently they are "just too busy" so they just kick you out the door. Staff are giving patients tylenol and gabapentin pills prior to surgery. Doing full anesthesia with no actual pain medication. BEWARE
I have no notes for my experience at the actual surgical center. My surgeon Dr Agnew was fantastic and my pre op and post op experiences were as expected. My gripe is the billing department for their company. The surgical center was hot on it to charge me prior to my surgery; but then over charged me about $300. My surgery was back in June and it is now September and I am still waiting for my refund. This is unacceptable. My surgeon also over charged me, but refunded me within a week of my health insurance claim coming back. My health and safety will always come first, hence why I give 3 stars; but their billing could do better.
Excellent experience here for right ear surgery last August and again for yesterday's left ear. Everyone here is extremely professional, nice, and caring! From Nicole at front desk, to nurse John who prepped me both times, to the lady anesthesia Dr, to OR nurses Paula and Susan and others, recovery nurses, an awesome staff to care for you from beginning to end. And of course, Dr. Bartels - the rock star of it all! So grateful to have Dr. Bartels and SPSC for my surgeries. You are all the best!
We cannot express enough gratitude for the amazing care our 2-year-old son received from the physicians during his recent surgery with Doctor Rogers and team. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel comfortable, informed, and completely safe. Their warm demeanor and clear communication eased our concerns as parents, and they took the time to explain every step of the procedure, ensuring we understood everything. The team was compassionate, patient, and attentive not only to our son but to us as well. It was clear from their professionalism and skill that our child was in excellent hands. We are beyond thankful for the care they provided, and our son’s smooth recovery is a testament to their expertise. I highly recommend these physicians for anyone seeking medical care for their little ones.
I cannot express how wonderful my experience was last week at Select Physician’s Surgery Center. I had never had surgery before, and I was absolutely terrified for weeks leading up. Everyone there was SO patient, kind, compassionate, and explained everything that was happening. I truly couldn’t believe how comfortable everyone made me feel. I had a Tympanoplasty done by Dr. Kyle Allen. I am still in recovery, but he was extremely helpful and explained everything in the appointments leading up and the day of surgery. I would highly recommend this surgery center to anyone - especially those who have anxiety about surgery. The staff and Dr. Allen couldn’t have been more kind.
