Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Cataract SurgeryThe clouded natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with a clear artificial one. It is one of the most common outpatient procedures performed in the country, usually takes under 30 minutes per eye, and is done under light sedation with numbing drops rather than general anesthesia.LASIK / Refractive SurgeryA laser reshapes the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, reducing dependence on glasses or contacts. The procedure itself takes minutes per eye. Vision is often noticeably better within a day, though it can take several weeks to fully stabilize.Glaucoma SurgeryCreates a new drainage path for fluid inside the eye to lower internal pressure. Glaucoma damages the optic nerve silently, so the goal is preventing further vision loss rather than restoring vision already lost. Several minimally invasive options are now performed in outpatient settings.Retinal SurgeryRepairs the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, most often for a detached or torn retina, or for bleeding related to diabetes. Timing matters — a detaching retina is treated urgently because delay increases the risk of permanent vision loss.Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)Removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids. When drooping upper lids block part of the visual field, the procedure is functional rather than cosmetic and is often covered by insurance if visual field testing documents the obstruction.Corneal TransplantReplaces damaged or clouded corneal tissue with donor tissue. Modern techniques often replace only the affected layer rather than the full thickness, which shortens recovery. Vision improves gradually over months, and stitches may stay in place for a year or longer.
Breast Augmentation / ReductionBreast size is increased by placing implants, or decreased by removing breast tissue and skin and repositioning the remaining tissue. Reduction is often performed to relieve back, neck, and shoulder pain caused by breast weight.RhinoplastySurgery that reshapes the nose by altering the bone and cartilage beneath the skin. It is performed to change appearance, to correct breathing problems caused by internal structure, or both. Swelling takes months to fully resolve.FaceliftLiposuctionFat is suctioned out from beneath the skin through small tubes called cannulas, reshaping a specific area such as the abdomen, flanks, or thighs. It targets localized deposits and is a contouring procedure rather than a method of weight loss.Wound ReconstructionRebuilds skin and underlying tissue where a wound is too large or too damaged to close directly. Surgeons move nearby tissue, or transfer skin and muscle from elsewhere on the body, to cover the defect. Often follows trauma, infection, or cancer removal.Skin GraftingHealthy skin is taken from one area of the body and transplanted to cover a wound or burn elsewhere. Both the graft site and the donor site need care, and the donor site is often the more uncomfortable of the two.

I thought I would be scarred for life and really look awful but Dr. Blanford spent hours on my surgery and did a beautiful job of putting me back together. I had tons of stitches everywhere and now you really can't tell I had surgery. He's very caring and gentle and I had all faith in his expertise.

I was seen yesterday by Dr. Katz. He was so professional and had amazing bedside manner. He reassured me and educated me in my condition. The technician who worked me up was very kind, knowledgeable and impressive. Unfortunately I did not catch her name. Dr. Katz scribe was very kind as well. Check in/out did a wonderful job. The whole process went smooth and I was in and out within the hour. The office itself was beautiful! I would recommend this office to anyone.

I had skin cancer removed from my lower eyelid by Dr Blandford, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. From the initial consultation through the procedure, he and his staff were extremely professional and took the time to clearly explain every step, which put me completely at ease. The outcome was excellent, both medically and cosmetically. I am very grateful for his skill and would highly recommend him to anyone needing specialized eyelid plastic surgery.

I can’t say enough positive things about this office! Everyone was so patient centered. Dr Schnell was simply the most kindhearted doctor I have ever encountered. He took so much time with me, was patient, honest and stayed with me through the entire process. I truly felt he cared about me. Dr Katz was very knowledgeable and just as kind. He explained everything so well and I never felt rushed or pressured. I am just starting my journey but I feel incredibly blessed that I was placed in the path with these doctors and their team! I would recommend them to everyone.
