Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Epidural Steroid InjectionsSteroid medication is injected near irritated spinal nerve roots to calm inflammation causing sciatica or arm pain. Often used to make physical therapy tolerable rather than as a standalone cure. There are limits on how frequently they can be repeated.Nerve Block InjectionsAnesthetic, sometimes with steroid, is injected around a specific nerve to interrupt pain signals. Used both to treat pain and to identify its source, since relief from a precisely placed block points to the nerve responsible.Radiofrequency AblationHeat generated by radio waves disables the small nerves carrying pain signals from an arthritic spinal joint. Relief commonly lasts six months to two years. Because the nerves regenerate over time, the procedure can be repeated.Spinal Cord StimulationA device delivers mild electrical pulses to the spinal cord to interrupt chronic pain signals before they reach the brain. A temporary trial period is done first, so you can judge the benefit before committing to a permanent implant.Joint InjectionsSteroid or lubricating medication is injected directly into an arthritic or inflamed joint. Image guidance is often used to confirm placement. Relief typically lasts weeks to months and can make physical therapy more productive.Trigger Point InjectionsA local anesthetic is injected into a taut, tender knot of muscle to break the spasm-and-pain cycle. The appointment takes minutes and you can usually return to normal activity the same day.

Friendship Surgery Center in Buford gets 5 plus stars in my book. From the the time you walk in the door until you leave, your made to feel like you are the only patient in the building. They treat you with such care and respect. I walk in and I am usually very nervous and the staff is amazing at keeping you calm. Everyone greets you by name and the environment is so clean and peaceful. Well now where to begin yes the surgical staff is awesome, but Dr.H .Keith Robinson is absolutely amazing. Not only as a doctor but as a human. His compassion and bedside manor are impeccable. I have been a patient of his for over 19 years and I followed him from Northside hospital all the way to Gainsville and will continue to follow him. I drive over an hour one way just to see him . So basically that tells you what kind of doctor and person that man truly is. I am writing this review not because I have to but because I want to. I wanted people and other patients to know that if they use this practice what kind of health care they can expect to receive. I do hope everyone reading this is healthy and not in need but if you find yourself in need of an awesome place please consider giving them a chance. And please let me recommend Dr. Keith Robinson and his amazing nurse Brandy Wilson, you won’t be sorry and the them ‘ Amy sent you’ Cheers to happy and healthy healing. ABF 10/13/20
