I was a patient at West Georgia Eye Care years ago. I recently called their office with a question relating to a medication side effect on general retinal health and how the two relate. When I asked for the doctor's opinion, I was met with incredible resistance. The receptionist responded, "doctor's don't take questions or phone calls. Also, the doctor you saw is now retired." What??? When I again reiterated that it is a general question unrelated to my case, and that any opthamologist should be able to answer with a PubMed search, I was given the same response but more annoyed in tone. I then impressed upon her that I am attempting stem cell donation to save/cure the life of a women with AML with "Be the Match", and that this is critical information to my ability to do so, she stated "I cant do anything for you." Minutes later, I called the office of my optometrist and received a response in less than an hour. As a physician myself, who is a patient on occasion, I was absolutely shocked by the lack of empathy and humanity at this office. I am severely disappointed.
I recommend Dr.Jackson. I had visited the office for the last two years. He had help me to get the right medication for my dry eyes. He takes time to explain why he prescribed any drops. He also offer samples when I had to change to any new drops that way he can be sure is the best for me before I get the whole prescription. He does explain what is the next step or plan for my care. I feel very at ease after leave the office. Also his assistant is very attentive. She had always called me back when I have problems with my prescriptions.
Dr. Cannon and all his staff is so kind! The lady that took me to the first room, was helpful asking if she could carry my coat, and she did! And Dr. Cannon as so polite as he always have been! And assured me of good eyes are! He said he is glad be being in avid has not had any effect my vision!
My appointment was on time. The nurse was awesome, caring, and took time to make me feel comfortable by engaging in meaning conversation. Dr. CURRIN took a model eye and throughly explained my eye issues. Checkout was smooth and cordial. Very nice people and facility.
Today I went to West Ga Eye care and was so pleased with my customer service. Although I couldn’t be seen, Kaylee and Kaitlin went over and beyond to assist me with my VA referral. They both gave me information and options to ensure I wouldn’t come out of pocket and to set me up for a future appointment. Every question I asked was answered in a polite manner. They both displayed a great amount of love and kindness today. I genuinely appreciate that.
