Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Cataract SurgeryThe clouded natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with a clear artificial one. It is one of the most common outpatient procedures performed in the country, usually takes under 30 minutes per eye, and is done under light sedation with numbing drops rather than general anesthesia.LASIK / Refractive SurgeryA laser reshapes the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, reducing dependence on glasses or contacts. The procedure itself takes minutes per eye. Vision is often noticeably better within a day, though it can take several weeks to fully stabilize.Glaucoma SurgeryCreates a new drainage path for fluid inside the eye to lower internal pressure. Glaucoma damages the optic nerve silently, so the goal is preventing further vision loss rather than restoring vision already lost. Several minimally invasive options are now performed in outpatient settings.Retinal SurgeryRepairs the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, most often for a detached or torn retina, or for bleeding related to diabetes. Timing matters — a detaching retina is treated urgently because delay increases the risk of permanent vision loss.Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)Removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids. When drooping upper lids block part of the visual field, the procedure is functional rather than cosmetic and is often covered by insurance if visual field testing documents the obstruction.Corneal TransplantReplaces damaged or clouded corneal tissue with donor tissue. Modern techniques often replace only the affected layer rather than the full thickness, which shortens recovery. Vision improves gradually over months, and stitches may stay in place for a year or longer.

I have been a patient of Dr Long for 15 years and I highly recommend him. He is considerate, kind, and very knowledgeable and professional. He takes his time to talk to you and explain everything that is going on with your eyes. The young lady at the front desk is very friendly and helpful. I enjoy going to my appointments with Dr Long. My husband, my daughter, my sister and some of my friends are all patients of Dr Long. I highly recommend Dr Long.

Dr. Kruglov is amazing. He listens to me and explains things to me where I can understand. The staff is excellent and has great customer service skills. The young lady at the front desk went above and beyond . She helped me with getting an Uber and adding a stop. My eyes were dilated so it was hard to see some things on my phone.

I am so disappointed in my recent experience with eye consultants of Atlanta. I am an established patient with an urgent need that can’t seem to get in contact with anyone. I’ve tried emailing since the end of December, I sent a request online, and I tried calling, and even left a voicemail. I guess they are too busy to respond to a simple email or return a simple phone call. SMH Edited my review because I finally got a call from a gentleman at the Fayetteville location that was super helpful, compassionate, and understanding. He made all of the difference in me changing this review.

I saw 2 doctors at this practice regarding issues with my eyes. Both doctors wrote it off as old-age dry eyes caused by wearing contacts and chalazions. Both of their prescribed care was OTC wetting drops; the second also suggested trying different contacts. The check-out person even commented "is he not prescribing an antibiotic?" This week I began having right eye irritation that progressively worsened over the day. By the next morning I was in so much pain that I thought my eye was going to explode! This is NOT old-age dry eye symptoms!!! Since I had gotten no help from either doctor at this location on 2 previous visits, and I was scared to death that something serious was happening to my eye, I opted to go to my neighborhood doc-in-the-box. The PA diagnosed my condition as a bacterial eye infection, prescribed medicated drops, and after just one use, my eyes showed marked improvement! Why could 2 DOCTORS misdiagnose a situation so badly when a PA diagnosed it immediately??? If either doctor had prescribed these drops when I visited the Fayetteville office, it would have spared me weeks of suffering and anguish. I cannot in good conscience recommend this practice since they could have possibly ruined my eyesight!!!
