Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Knee ArthroscopyA camera and small instruments are inserted through incisions the size of a buttonhole to repair cartilage, trim a torn meniscus, or remove loose fragments. Because the joint is not opened fully, recovery is far faster than traditional open knee surgery.Shoulder ArthroscopyUses a small camera and instruments through tiny incisions to repair the shoulder joint — commonly for impingement, labral tears, or damaged cartilage. Most patients go home the same day and begin physical therapy within the first week.ACL ReconstructionRebuilds the torn anterior cruciate ligament using a graft, since a fully torn ACL does not heal on its own. The surgery itself is outpatient, but returning to cutting and pivoting sports typically takes nine to twelve months of structured rehabilitation.Rotator Cuff RepairReattaches torn tendons in the shoulder to the bone. Pain relief often comes well before strength does — a sling is typical for several weeks and full recovery commonly takes four to six months, with physical therapy doing much of the work.Carpal Tunnel ReleaseCuts the ligament pressing on the median nerve at the wrist to relieve numbness, tingling, and night pain in the hand. The procedure takes about 15 minutes under local anesthesia. Night symptoms often improve immediately; grip strength returns over several weeks.Joint ReplacementDamaged joint surfaces are replaced with implants, most commonly at the knee or hip. Once exclusively a hospital procedure, selected healthy patients now have this done at surgery centers and go home the same day with a structured recovery plan.

My experience at Specialty Orthopaedics Surgery Center could not have been better. The team who prepped me for my procedure were warm and friendly and made me comfortable and relaxed. Dr. Bullard, who administered my nerve block and anaesthesia, explained a lot to me about managing post-op pain. I must say that Dr. Neustein is a perfectionist who runs his OR like a well-oiled machine. I appreciate how they all work together so beautifully. It is quite obvious that he loves what he does and that he genuinely cares about getting the ultimate outcome for his patients.

Well, in principle everything is very good, although the specialist operates on you and does not see you again after the operation, the assistant comes and is very good, but they do not give you a real budget of all the expenses that you are going to make. They come with a small sum so that you take the bait, then the weeks go by after the operation and that is when you really see that the total bill is going to be very very large, it happened to me, I also recognize part of My fault for not speaking well . English and they took advantage there, but otherwise I recommend it.

Nobody enjoys getting surgery, but Specialty Orthopaedics does a lot to make the experience as pleasant as possible. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they made sure my pain was well managed both pre- and post-op for both of my shoulder surgeries. Everyone made sure all of my questions were answered and they are good about following up during recovery as well. I would happily recommend them to anyone who needs orthopedic surgery.
