I suffered a fall while outdoors at home caring for our plants & flowers around the back entrance. I had stepped off the pavement to pull a few weeds and water. Unfortunately, as I turned around my sandal caught in the edge of the concrete. I had started my movement without noticing the concrete is about 1 1/4in-1/2 in h higher which caused my sandal to catch. I had too much momentum as I turned & wasn't able for my feet to catch up with my🙄😬🥺😨😪 mid-fall body. It's so odd how time slows down when you realize you're in trouble. All I could do was break my fall with my forearms and hands most intense on right side. I caught my right thumb turning it back, most all weight on right hand shoulder, and hip. Narrowly preventing my face from smashing into the concrete driveway🥺😨😱 I immediately knew I wasn't going to get through this as easy as I'd hoped. By 2 hrs later I knew for the first time I had a broken bone. I've seen Dr Paxten for Fx right Radial Head & trauma to my thumb. The treatment has gone without any untoward occurrence. Thus happened on October 1, at 20:45. My last time for f/u was Nov. 13. I no longer require the splint 24/7, the xray was good, continuing to heal. I am requiring O.T. for exercises, strengthen, and working to regain ROM. I've had a great amount of very physical work to do and have vintners to perform those tasks. I'm afraid I've done too much pulling, lifting, and work with my right hand. It's just so hard not do to much, it done before you know it, you know it when it tells you so!!! Problem is it's too late at that time... I've got my wrist talking very harshly at me for those actions. Sooooo oooppps, I've taken it easy a few days this since my appointment & this week because my wrist is actually painful at rest. I think I'll wear my splint when I get busy. That's in about 10min from now. Yep, seems it's about 1500 every day when I get revved up for working inside and outside around here🥸 🙈🙉🙊 By the way ROC Orthopedics Dr's and staff are fantastic. The facility is very clean, nice, and easy to access.

Let me start be saying I felt like the care and concern I received from staff at this office was fantastic. I was self-pay, as they were out of network and there really wasn't a better option to be seen fairly quickly. So, on the day of service, I was prepared to pay out of pocket, and did so. They required a "deposit" before the visit, then afterwards I was told my balance was only about $40 more, so I paid and left, wearing the new walking boot they gave me in office. Imagine my surprise the next weekend to receive a bill for another $520. I called billing thinking it must be a mistake, since I paid what I was told was the full balance in office. They say, oh no, you owe $520 for the walking boot. $520? I pulled the make and model off of the boot and checked it out on Google. Several retailers were listed there, the most expensive of which was $95.42. This is what I told billing, who were very kind and seemed to really want to help me. The staff said they would check into it and return my call, which they did, and on the same day too. But, no, the $520 was not going to be reduced, since this is the price they charge everyone. So, go in with the knowledge that medical equipment will be marked up over 500%, just because their logo is on it, apparently, and that there is no room for negotiation, despite showing that the actual cost was ridiculously lower. I was told there was a 14 day return policy, so that's exactly what I did, I returned it. Then went on Amazon and bought the exact same boot for $38. Its kind of a perfect example of what is wrong with the medical system in the United states, and I will be much more careful to ask all prices, and ask for proof that I've paid the full balance, and no more charges will be added later.

Had a hip replaced on July 11, 2025. Pre op, operation, and post op have all been great. Dr. Dunn performed the surgery and everything has been great! As for people complaining about wait times, between pre-op and today I’ve had many appointments. The wait has never been longer than 30 minutes and no worse than the wait I’ve experienced at any medical appointment my entire life. They are extremely busy at ROC. I suggest arriving on time. Early arrival will just leave you waiting.

I thought that my appointment went fine today, until I spoke with my sister (who had a similar injury last year), that is. Her doctor prescribed her a boot with an air bladder feature for obvious benefit, repeated x-rays, and prescribed her adequate pain management. I got no repeat x-rays, a basic boot I could have ordered off of Amazon for $30, and told that Tylenol is my best friend for the pain. Then they tried charging me over $200 with insurance? I will not be returning! And I recommend that others find an office that actually cares as well.
