My prostate cancer operation was in 2022. Dr. Shapiro was my Surgeon & he and his Staff, at Advanced Urology in Snellville, GA, have been with me all the way. I just had one of my 6-month PSA reviews & as always, he was right there personally checking on me. He's an excellent Doctor that treats the Heart, along with the body, by showing kindness & empathy. Last but not least, he has an excellent Staff. Personally it can get a little stressful dealing with certain medical conditions but knowing, walking in the door, that this Staff will greet you with a smile & respect means a lot to me & I don't take it for granted. I had to have a Kidney stone shattered and removed and the Dr was really good about explaining everything. He was kind and very up beat and it helps when you are scared. With that said, it went down hill from there. The front desk lady had food sitting out and people coming in for surgery were not allowed to eat after midnight. This was at 2pm and I was starving. Then they shuffled us in a tiny room to wait with 6 other people all on top of each other and it was so small some couldn't sit down. Surgery went great but they woke me up shoved a piece of paper in my hand, said some one would call me ( no one called) tomorrow and check on me and basically pushed me out the door. The instructions were very vague on everything. I got a text later that night they had called in a prescription for me. By then I was in pain and couldn't drive and didn't have anyone to take me to get it. I had to suffer thru and go the next morning myself. Thats not even the kicker! I paid my share of what it was going to be out of pocket $3400. up front and now almost a month later they are sending me emails and text messages that I have a $2100 balance and I have to pay NOW! After going back and looking at the bills it only shows I paid $1100. I called them and they first person I talked to said insurance hasn't settled call back at the end of January. I called my insurance and they said they paid their portion and its settled so I called the billing department back and he insisted I only paid $1100 and said he would have someone look into it yet I am getting emails talking about sending it to collections. By their bill I actually over paid by $50. So My advise is go over the bill carefully several times and make sure they are not trying to rip you off too because I almost paid the $2100 they are demanding and something told me not to and im glad I didn't.

Dr. Mally and his nursing staff was exceptionally warm, welcoming and reassuring. They made me feel comfortable even when I was a bit nervous about the procesure I was having. I couldnt have asked for a better experience. So happy I chose them. Plus, Dr. Mally is good to look at if you know what I mean! Lol ...wink.... wink!😉
