Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Cataract SurgeryThe clouded natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with a clear artificial one. It is one of the most common outpatient procedures performed in the country, usually takes under 30 minutes per eye, and is done under light sedation with numbing drops rather than general anesthesia.LASIK / Refractive SurgeryA laser reshapes the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, reducing dependence on glasses or contacts. The procedure itself takes minutes per eye. Vision is often noticeably better within a day, though it can take several weeks to fully stabilize.Glaucoma SurgeryCreates a new drainage path for fluid inside the eye to lower internal pressure. Glaucoma damages the optic nerve silently, so the goal is preventing further vision loss rather than restoring vision already lost. Several minimally invasive options are now performed in outpatient settings.Retinal SurgeryRepairs the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, most often for a detached or torn retina, or for bleeding related to diabetes. Timing matters β€” a detaching retina is treated urgently because delay increases the risk of permanent vision loss.Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)Removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids. When drooping upper lids block part of the visual field, the procedure is functional rather than cosmetic and is often covered by insurance if visual field testing documents the obstruction.Corneal TransplantReplaces damaged or clouded corneal tissue with donor tissue. Modern techniques often replace only the affected layer rather than the full thickness, which shortens recovery. Vision improves gradually over months, and stitches may stay in place for a year or longer.

I walked into urgent care , because of how ill I was. Turns out urgent care is not urgent. You need an appointment so when I was sickest, they had no desire to treat me.

The hospital is very clean, and the staff is very friendly. The appointments are not too far apart, there's no long waits, patients get phone reminders about upcoming appointments, and doctors make follow up calls with their patients and refer them to the right physicians to get the appropriate care they need. They care so much for about their patients.

I received wonderful attention at their Urgent Care facility today. They worked me in to their busy schedule without an appointment, then gave me great care. Kaiser is always good, but here on Oahu they are great!

Took someone there. I witnessed this: Computer system said to go to x-ray. X-ray told us no that was wrong to go see the doctor . We had to tell the assistant where to do the x-rays rather than even having an exam by somebody . After x-rays Doctor did not perform adequate exam, did not look at history, did not seem knowledgeable. Possibly one of the poorest exams I have ever seen. Multiple x-rays all had identical comments and comments on the foot are on the knee x-ray etc. Most of the X-ray comments were clearly cut and pasted and referring to other x-rays. Whoever read the X-rays remotely did a shitty job. Didn't even bother identifying the correct body part with their comments on other x-rays. What kind of clown show are you running at Kaiser? Are these really even doctors? If I had not been there as an advocate it wouldn't have even been this good. Recommend this if health is not a priority.

Well my experience with KP is amazing . Everything is being easy for me in this clinic. I’m blessed to have them as my insurance. Everything looks nice, everyone is very gentle in my personal experience. I did a fast blood work. I’m a very healthy person. My Dr Joel David it was really cool with me. The only thing is the entrance is a little confusing for me when I arrive 1st time. I just walk in for the lab I don’t know how friendly is the parking because I arrive on foot so yes. That is my experience
