Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through — a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

This practice has provided all of my colonoscopies. Each time it has improved with efficiency and friendliness. I have never been mistreated in anyway. Dr. Goulet has always greeted me before the procedure and after the process with the results. I have never felt nervous or anxious. That is due to the staff and Dr. Goulet. Thank you Nampa Idaho Endoscopy Center

Dr. Evans and the staff that took care of me during my procedure were all very professional. Kind and considerate, they all listened to me about what I was anxious about and helped me to remain calm. They treated me with dignity and respect and understanding. One of my biggest fears was the IV. But the nurse handling that part was very caring and he walked me through every step. He did as much as he could to also keep me distracted while he worked. The facility was extremely clean and well lit. Virtually no wait to get checked in. Front end staff were all kind and courteous. I would highly recommend Dr. Ashley Evans and this location for your colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures.

Nurses were awesome. Check-in procedure would have been better if links sent prior to appointment worked. Stuck using iPad and not comfortable sharing my information with apple due to use of their products(reason in apple user agreements).

Overall , this was the most pleasant experience from getting the procedure all set up an day of the procedure next! Starting with communication prior to the procedure, I am a teacher and for about a solid week. We were playing phone tag. I finally got a receptionist who understood my plight and the difficulty to be available since i'm all day with children ... she made it work!!! Then the day of the procedure, starting off with the pleasant and cheerful receptionist , and then meeting the first nurse , who took me back ... all very friendly and punctual!!! Dr Cook came in to explain the procedure and ask if I had any concerns. Even afterwards it was just upon leaving just pleasant. For such an uncomfortable procedure (colonoscopy), they were the most hands down pleasant people!!!

My experience at Digestive Health Clinic was better than I imagined! I was very nervous but the nurses and staff were so calming and attentive to my needs. The procedure went perfectly and my provider was very helpful at explaining everything and answering my questions. The facility and staff were very professional, efficient, immaculate and respectful of privacy. I would highly recommend this clinic for all your digestive health needs.
