Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Tonsillectomy / AdenoidectomyThe tonsils and sometimes the adenoids are removed for repeated infections or sleep-disordered breathing. Recovery is notably harder for adults than children, with significant throat pain for a week or more and a real emphasis on staying hydrated.Ear Tube PlacementTiny tubes are placed through the eardrum to drain fluid and ventilate the middle ear, most often for children with recurrent ear infections. The procedure takes about 10 minutes and the tubes usually fall out on their own within a year.Sinus Surgery (FESS)A camera and instruments passed through the nostrils open blocked sinus drainage pathways, with no external incisions. Considered for chronic sinusitis that has not improved with medication. Congestion often worsens briefly before it improves.SeptoplastyThe wall of cartilage and bone between the nostrils is straightened to improve airflow through a blocked side. It addresses breathing rather than external appearance, though it is sometimes combined with cosmetic reshaping.Turbinate ReductionSwollen tissue inside the nose is shrunk to improve airflow, frequently at the same time as septoplasty. Often the difference between a nose that is structurally straight and one that actually feels open.LaryngoscopyA scope examines the voice box and vocal cords, used for persistent hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, or throat pain that has not resolved. Small lesions can sometimes be biopsied or removed during the same procedure.
Breast Augmentation / ReductionBreast size is increased by placing implants, or decreased by removing breast tissue and skin and repositioning the remaining tissue. Reduction is often performed to relieve back, neck, and shoulder pain caused by breast weight.RhinoplastySurgery that reshapes the nose by altering the bone and cartilage beneath the skin. It is performed to change appearance, to correct breathing problems caused by internal structure, or both. Swelling takes months to fully resolve.FaceliftLiposuctionFat is suctioned out from beneath the skin through small tubes called cannulas, reshaping a specific area such as the abdomen, flanks, or thighs. It targets localized deposits and is a contouring procedure rather than a method of weight loss.Wound ReconstructionRebuilds skin and underlying tissue where a wound is too large or too damaged to close directly. Surgeons move nearby tissue, or transfer skin and muscle from elsewhere on the body, to cover the defect. Often follows trauma, infection, or cancer removal.Skin GraftingHealthy skin is taken from one area of the body and transplanted to cover a wound or burn elsewhere. Both the graft site and the donor site need care, and the donor site is often the more uncomfortable of the two.

Procedure list is based on CMS-reported specialty designations. Contact the facility to confirm specific procedures offered.

I’m so impressed with first this facility and how beautiful it is, but the way the staff is so professional and welcoming when you walk in. Dr. Peterson is off the charts amazing! If I could give him a zillion stars I would! He’s the fourth ENT doctor I’ve seen over the years but he’s THE BEST BY FAR! I highly recommend him to anyone who needs this service!!

Wow! I just came out of surgery yesterday and I can tell you that I had a great time at Upper Valley ENT! I can name Michelle, Jill, Jen, Dr. Jay McMaster, and their amazing anesthesiologist. Michelle answered my pre-op questions in detail and made sure I was ready. The surgery center front desk was very welcoming and kind (sorry I didn’t recall the name). Jill, my bedside nurse made sure I was aware of how things will be going what the steps were, and made sure I was prepared for the post-op steps and self care. Michael, the anesthesiologist, made sure I knew what was going to received through IV and answered all my questions—even the weird ones. Dr. Jay McMaster was in a good mood as per my question, and I did wished him to have the best surgery ever. Their on-call nurse was ready to ease my mind and help me relax and care for myself better through calls and texts. Everyone was prepared, emphatic, and professional. If you are looking to have anything done, I highly recommend this team! Even though it’s not fun having a surgery, the team and the care can make such a difference. Congrats on an amazing team, Dr. McMaster! Than you, everyone!

Upper valley ENT’s scheduler was friendly and easy to work with. Their office staff were very friendly and helpful. The Doctor took his time and listened while I explained the issues I was having with my ears. He explained in detail what was most likely happening and what he recommended to heal my inner ear issues. I highly recommend this ENT office.

I LOVE this office! We are new to the area and had our first visit with Dr. Peterson. His bedside manner and politeness to my 12 year old son and I, was very professional and impressive. They were short staffed, but Lindsey welcomed us with a smile and walked us to the correct area, introduced us to Jenna, (who was AMAZING, checking my son in, helping with paperwork, scheduling the rest of my family, AND answering phones all by herself, like a boss!!) Then, Dr. Peterson called us back and took my sons vitals (😱🤩 doctors never do that!!) I very much appreciated how Dr. Petersons took photos of my sons septum and throat and educate us on what we were seeing. (Not “mansplain” or talk down to us, but EDUCATE! ) The sweet nurse went above and beyond to help schedule, read through paperwork, and made sure we understood all the info given. What exceptional individuals, making us and all the other patients feel comfortable. Idk if my kiddo is “excited” for tonsillectomy, but we know he is in the best hands! Thank you to those who really went above and beyond!

Upper Valley EMT was a wonderful office! They were very professional, kind, informative and super clean and organized. Dr McMasters has a great bedside manner but is also so good at what he does. He explains things in an easy way but you can tell has a LOT more expertise and knowledge than is needed. He doesn’t spout off all of that in a way to make you impressed with him. The waiting area is warm and inviting.
